why is it so much? Was it because it was a low run or something? Everywhere I look it seems like the running price is $125-$200. I think it retailed for $20, did it not?

I really want the Skywarp to complete my Seekers, and Ultra Magnus is cool. However, the prices out there seem really ridiculous. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

    City. Commander.

Also, yes. This set is the ONLY way to have a complete set of Hasbro Seekers. So there's that on top of it.

Skywarp is sought after because now that Thundercracker got a retail release, everyone wants to complete the Seekers.

Ultra Magnus is sought after because of the City Commander third party release.

For UM, you're better off getting the Takara reissue in October.

For Skywarp, you can get good deals here on the boards usually.

Unfortunately, it's either pay the prices or go without.

and it sold for even less because Target clearanced it out at like $5... but a year or so later Fansproject unveiled City commander and Botcon released Thundercracker, driving the cost up on both figures.

Classics Skywarp by himself is pretty tricky to obtain as well. I see him going for $50-60 quite a bit.

    Ebay:
FansProject City Commander (upgrade kit to make something resembling the Ultra Magnus collectors wanted) + Skywarp (its only retail release in Classics) = $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

The upcoming China exclusive Henkei release of Magnus may help drop the price a bit though as people searching for a Magnus for their City Commander finally have a Japanese option.

    It's unfortunate. Just need Skywarp.

Be patient and stay firm on the price(s) you're willing to pay, but be realistic. These toys have been in the secondary market for about 5 years. You'll have to pay some kind of a premium for them, whether you like it or not.

I was able to get both for 75 I think less than a year ago. I also have the City Commander set,but I've yet to open either. Best of both worlds.

You may not want to, but you're most likely going to one way or the other. Keep an eye out on Junkion and see if a fellow collector is willing to part with one or both for a decent price is your best bet.

Yeah, I didn't want to pay the $90 I did for my Battle at Autobot City set, but I did anyway. Just bad timing in my getting into collecting TFs with Classics RIGHT AFTER the City Commander trailer first came out.

I saw a wall of these at Target during closing, I didn't have my wallet with me. I figured Id come back about 10am the next day. All gone. Like 75 of them. Never got any more in. I just missed one MISB at a yard sale a couple weeks ago (for $20). But I did manage to pick skywarp up from a comic store for $15. No null rays though.... Still missing those. I really have hoped Hasbro reissues Skywarp with G1 paint apps.. Good luck finding a good deal. They are out there, even if far between.

I really don't want to pay 60$ for an opened figure, but if I had the spare money, maybe I would do it. Because I really want a Skywarp. But I would prefer a new release, because his stripes are different from Universe Starscream and Generations Thundercracker. That bothers me a bit ;)
