Updated 9/15/2014 Ariel and I have been working together to start bringing some of his designs that more "finished" look. So instead of only being able to get his amazing designs in the limited materials available from Shapeways, people could get resin kits instead. These will be limited run pressure injection mold pieces using a custom resin designed for high speed/low wear gears. Kits will be available on the sprues in the colors of your choices or very limited fully assembled pieces. Keep an eye on the 3P forum for the individual designs as they go up for sale. This topic is only for progress and behind the scene peeks at our partnership as we work together. I. Love. This. Keep it up and I'll keep voting with my wallet. There is such a market for good custom heads that is being ignored. Off to dig up my fantasy wish list!
Again, I wanna thank nonnef for doing this. It ain't easy to cast such small models consistently (especially considering what he had to work with) so I applaud his efforts! His colour matching is awesome as well. And yes, do let us know if you have any designs you would like to see casted (within reasonable limits, of course). FYI, those things on the top of his eyes are frowny eyebrows.
This is really good! I'm definitely interested in more comic-accurate heads. I'd buy one for Universe Cyclonus in a heartbeat.
If the Dread heads/parts for the Vehicon get casted I would totally buy some. I'm crap with paint and have been terribly afraid I'd ruin the actual ones if I got them from Shapeways.....
Looks fantastic guys. Be proud of yourselves. As for what I want, I'd likely be tempted by his WFC minions but the biggest thing to tempt me would be Vos! Please do Vos!
As I suggested on Shapeways, please retool the basic Vos design into Rung, since Rung just transforms into what appears to be a baseball bat in the comic, I highly doubt a gun Rung would cause a commotion, also a retool of one of the data disc minions as Marvel G1 Scrounge, which works on two levels, Scrounge transformed into a wheel in those comics, plus he had a very close association with Blaster
I can't wait to get one ! Just seeing this design in the proper colors is just amazing! Fakebusker83 is an amazing 3D modeler! And if we are making suggestions for other models being made: Skids' Forearm Blasters by fakebusker83 on Shapeways Trivia the Cruciverbalist by fakebusker83 on Shapeways Masterpiece Seeker hands by fakebusker83 on Shapeways Crossfire Hands (Brute variant) by fakebusker83 on Shapeways I would love to see these made!
Great work casting the 3d printed models is not an easy task looks great! also excited to see some of fakebusker's designs available in something other than shapeways materials
Well, that's 3 extremely excited requests for that lovely Trivia figure, make me number 4! I was just about to pull the trigger and order him from Shapeways, but I would be more than willing to wait and pay a little more for a resin casting instead. Would definitely save me alot of pre-painting prep work.
So these are going to custom garage kits that we would still have to paint? Would we be ordering directly from nonnef? I'm confused on the details but still excited. And count me in for a Trivia/Rewind and Vos!
trivia, as i mentioned on twitter. also i think you guys would kill it with a smart robin face masked head, especially if you could incorporate a neck. fantastic work. got my tracking already
Any plans for a Motormaster head-in-a-box? Would love to see one, especially with that black semi coming out soon. I just don't buy it being Galvatron. Not only that, we need an updated Motormaster!
Link is in my signature to my Etsy page. I'll edit the original post to be more clear. This head has already been listed and is in stock. Each project we do will have a different setup. But for this Trailcutter head, he comes already in his proper colors, as per the picture in the original post. No painting needed. I see we have a lot of requests for Triva. He's certainly on our list to tackle. But he'll be a huge upfront investment for me to take on. So we're starting smaller and making sure these things actually sell. We're working more to bring current designs out as kits at the moment. That said, I personally have a bunch planned for the AOE line. Even if it's not something Ariel and I tackle as a team. =) Thanks for all the ideas and compliments guys!
