It will be very interesting to watch what this one goes for vs. the one going for charity.

Dozens and dozens of people donated 10x times +.. To think otherwise is just cute and naieve.. There will be many more to come. Hopefully ebay will take it seriously after enough people complain, and just cancel the auctions before they start.

Selling a $10 toy one received for donating $15 to charity is no more immoral than buying a $75 toy and selling it for $400. You may personally not agree with this auction but there is absolutely nothing immoral about it.

The one for charity is at $53 currently! Not bad!  This one however....is not even at $10 (its at $9.50 as I'm typing this). So...if you look at it this way....the guy had to at least have donated $15 to get the toy. He's not even breaking even and from what it looks like....he's not really making any money off of it.....so why all the hub-bub?

    1) The fact that there's 9 days left
    2) The fact that he's profiting off of charity (doesn't matter to me, but a lot of people here tend to lean towards the ultra-moral righteous end of the spectrum)
    3) The fact that the thing got bid up to $9.50 in under a few hours from 4 different bidders

PS: It takes 2 to have a transaction. If this guy is scum for selling, the bidders are scum for trying to buy. Keep that in mind. The law of supply and demand wouldn't hold if there were no buyers, and this dude wouldn't be able to sell the thing.

I didn't say I disagree or agree with it....besides we don't know what he gonna do with the money...he could be donating...he could be donating to himself....he has the right to do what he wants with something he DONATED to get....right?

Obviously, I have no problem with the auction but I also have no problem saying so. But I was replying to the fact that you said it wasn't moral. Therefore, I logically assumed you didn't agree with it. My fault for misinterpreting your words.

Well if the seller can live with himself knowing that this toy was not meant for profit (even though he's trying to sell it for one), then that's on his shoulders. Am I saying he's in the right? No, but it would seem he does have the right to sell off anything that's in his possession. What can anyone do except report the auction and watch ebay do nothing about it except give you a "we don't know enough about this item to...." blab blah blah. If you're not willing to make a huge stink about this with ebay or put up with said response you'd get several times before they would actually do anything....or if you believe in Karma or something similar, then let this guy get what he deserves. If it ends up being nothing of that nature.....well.....life goes on.

Yup.....and honestly I don't see the difference in someone selling it now....or 10 years down the road. If I ever get mine....I know I'm keeping it for a good long while.
