The Unofficial TFW2005 3rd nnual Best Comics of the Year is approaching, time to nominate your choices for 2007!

    The Rules:
    1. Nomination period will run from December 17th, 2007 to January 5th, 2008.
    2. Please select up to 5 story arcs - if you can't that's cool, try to list your top 3, if not whatever you can.
    3. Please include the title of the story arc.
    4. When nominating, remember that the story must have concluded during 2007 - why? 'cause the story might start off strong and then go downhill in the last issue.
    5. If you change your mind during the nomination period (after rereading the stories or someone nominates one you've forgotten about), please repost your top story arcs. If you post multiple times, I will only count the last one.
    6. Once the nomination period ends, the five most popular arcs will be voted on for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Feel free to post one shots as well!

    Notes/Exceptions:
    • Captain America Volume 5 "Death of a Dream" is currently in Act 2 (issue #31-36), so only nominations on Act 1 (issue #25-30)
    • It's been mentioned before, Invincibles doesn't really have arcs so you can vote for a specific issue.
    • 52 can be nominated on this year, Countdown can't.
    • English Mangas can be nominated.
    • Planet Hulk story arcs up for nomination are Allegiance and Armageddon. The other two (Exile and Anarchy) ended in 2006.
If you're having trouble remembering what stories came out this year, check out the Preview Archive and be sure to read the notes at the top about the links.

Well let's get this off with a bang: Sinestro Corps War

Everything else I can even think of to list is still ongoing. I guess I'll be coming back to list more.

I want to nominate All Star Batman and Robin, but I would be hard pressed to choose a single issue, it's a lollercoaster every time.

    2. 30 Days Of Night: Red Snow

The Boys (which I consider the best comic out there at the moment) doesn't really have story arcs as such, but it's an amazingly good comic and everyone on the planet should read it immediately..

    1. 52
    2. Sinestro Corps War
    3. Blinded by the Light from Adjectiveless X-Men
    4. The Lightning Saga JLA/JSA/LoSH crossover

I'd love to nominate 52 Pick-Up from Booster Gold, but the last issue doesn't come out until January. :(

I'd also love to put Blue Beetle on here somewhere, but the book doesn't have multi-part story arcs. It's mostly a bunch of done-in-ones with some ongoing plot lines.

According to the solicit of #8...

"Part 1 of Frank Miller's and Jim Lee's two-fisted thrill ride ends here, yet it's only just begun!"

    So issue #1-7 are good.

    World War Hulk
JLA Reap the Whirlwind (or whatever Meltzer's first story on his run was called)

...Is the current Thor run considered one story arc? If not, I nominate the one where he kicked the crap out Iron Man.

More if I think of 'em.

    1. Planet Hulk - I can't remember if it ended this year but the writing was pretty solid IMO.

    2. WWH - the Hulk unleashed, what more can Hulk fans ask for. Best moment was when he beat Iron-man (no offence to Tony's fans but Marvel has really turned him into a jerk).

    3. The Illumanti - pretty decent series. Loved the way how Namor was written.

    4. Batman & son - was it this year also? The reason why I picked this is because the story was "fun" and we got to see how Damien mixing with the rest of the Bat cast.
