yeah... but it would be nice if we just had something along the lines of last year when Peter Cullen called in as "Optimus Prime".. maybe something like Soundwave calling in lol
Way to drop the ball on that one Paramount, nice job. So what TF2 is still shooting? They showed footage of the Wolverine movie, and they're still filming that one.
They don't need as much early hype this time around since the first one did so well and the word is already out about the sequal. Besides the first ones teaser tid bit didn't even involve any actors or anything.
It's like Paramount got all high and mighty this year and they were too darn good to come down to the geek level. They have GI Joe in the works as well but Paramount passed on the chance to promote that at one of the biggest geek events of the year. The Watchmen buzz is off the charts now thanks to Comic Con so the hey let's be cheap and not do anything might have been a royal screw up for Paramount. Nice way to support the geeks who buy tickets to your movies Paramount!
I have to admit that, despite how much i'm looking foreward to TF:ROTF.... I'm getting bored by the complete and utter lack of anything official. I mean come on...how hard was it to have organised a few A3 boards with concept renderings or even a simple A4 sheet of paper on a stand listing the cast line up.... I'm definately seeing this movie in the Cinema, no matter what the new characters look like, but come on Paramount and Mr Bay.. Give us something
Wolverine recently wrapped and is into post production I think... Dragonball also finished shooting ages ago and it has more precense in the pages of Japanese Shonen Jump than it has on Comicon. My point is. (If I have one.) Is that the studios will show when they have something juicy to show. There whas the "Even Bigger F**cking robots are coming!" shirt and whispers of a stock teaser poster thou... Not much, but something. I suspect we'll start seeing stuff the closer to Toy Fair we get.
Hell I was hoping to hear some news about TF2 at Comic Con. I have been watching the G4 Channel hoping to hear some more news about the second movie.
Maybe it wasnt Paramounts call maybe it has to do the with they dont want to piss off the director who is hiding his film from the public really really well. Actually im no Michael Bay loving fanboy even in the most remote sense but I ll give him credit on a couple things here. 1 not calling the movie TF2, really labeling a movie part 2 feels like their half assing it. Secondly my biggest problem with films are the myriad of spoilers that often kill the flicks best parts. So if his intentions are to offer some really great story and more in depth twists and demands that he hides it from us all the way till its debut I would have to give the man kudos. Besides on the GI Joe movie are they even shooting yet ?
They have been into filming for a while. Most of the news on the film at Comic Con came out of the Hasbro/IDW panel, but it was recycled info about the massive sets like the PITT, FLAGG, and Destro's artic base. They did release a new bit of info that at one point Duke and Baroness were going to get married only for Duke to have left her on their wedding day. Some new pictures we hadn't seen yet. Oh and they had the big Ice Tunneler on display they had at Toy Fair and Joe Con, so they are leaking stuff here and there to build some buzz. No word on when filming will totally be wrapped up or when all the effects and editing will be finished, but filming seems to have been going well.
They made bags of money despite Transformers being a terrible film and most of that money did not come from us geeks. They dont need us anymore.
IYO Never did. Anyways, I was hoping to see something at the con, but it really wasn't much of a surprise that they didn't show anything.
wow that one just slipped by me altogether heh. That movie is going to be really interesting in how close to the show are the going to stay or are they going to veer down the same direction of TF 2007 with complete rewrite and the character names stay the same. Ya that makes no sense having no showing at comic con especially when the rest of holly wood was there.
