This is bad news? I'm kidding. I wouldn't be surprised if they did hit sooner though. Also seems like a D-bag move on Hasbro's part to pack Soundwave with Que, it is like a slap in the face to Que.
It's really weird for them to wait on these on-screen molds for after the holiday season. The first quarter is dead for toy sales. Then again, this is fast becoming the "Bumblebee, Nitro Bumblebee, Stealth Bumblebee and Pals" toy franchise.
soundwavedotm or whatever the hell his name is, said they were being released around the time of the movie's 3D release, which we found out is January 31st and now we're hearing February for the toys. My guess is it's a promotional blitz of sorts. However, we were promised figures during that period, in the past and they never came out, or ended up at the TJMaxx family of stores. I have a feeling that other than Leadfoot, we won't be seeing these at mass retail. Good thing I decided to preorder these two from BBTS.
I guess, there's some irony in the chance of retailers not ordering much tail end movie toys so as to focus on Prime.....
... ... you forgot "and his bestest buddy, red and blue Optimus Prime! Along with his sidekick, red and blue Optimus Prime with less paint!"
Funny, rather than Prime riding on the coat tails of the movie, the movie will be riding on the coat tails of Prime.
I don't think Hasbro is going to let Deluxe Leadfoot, Soundwave, and Que end up at TJ Maxx. They still haven't been sighted domestically yet, so it's possible they got pushed to February as well.
perhaps giving retailers a chance to move the overstock of first 2 waves through christmas? or atleast thats what it seems like in my area
All I'm going to say is I'm glad I have Takara's Leadfoot. I honestly doubt Hasbro is going to release theirs anytime soon.
Actually, I think that's part of the reason. Try to clear out some of the older stock that's still lingering for the holidays, make room for the new stuff. I imagine they'd prefer to avoid another 'Reveal the Shield @ Ross' situation. I may be giving them too much credit, but eh. Either way, good way to save some money until next year... barring the Prime toys.
By the time February arrives any cash or gift vouchers kids got for Christmas will have already been spent. Whatever happened to the traditional big new toy push for Christmas? Every year companies seem to be less and less bothered about getting as much new stuff out before the festive season.
