I just got an email from somebody who sells their customs on Ebay, saying that his account was suspended indefinitely for "copyright infringement".

    His exact words:

"ebay for some reason has suspended my account claiming its illegal for me to sell repainted transformer toys as its infringement of copyrights of productionists"

Is this right? I'm not up on copyright laws as they pertain to toy repaints.

I see plenty of other customs on Ebay right now, so I wonder what the deal is.

If that's true, then it's really stupid.

But then, when playing your radio loud gets you sued for copyright infringement, I can't rule out any form of stupidity:

I'm sure Hasbro didn't complain. It's probably just Ebay being moronic, like they did with gun Megatrons.

I've heard this problem popping up for Star Wars customs in the past.

Unless eBay is listening to user reports and complaints of copyright infringement (which they never have for KO's) then perhaps Hasbro is using eBay's VERO system to make these reports.
