Beast Wars was the series I grew up with, I did see some G1 episodes as a kid but it was just random repeats in the early 90s.

At the time the CGI was great and there was a proper story arc, always get me excited to see the next one. The voice acting was also fantasic

I do like G1, but it had terrible animation and some truly stupid episodes.

It seems like I'm the only one who actually thinks BW is better then G1, is this just because of nostalgia or have I missed something?

Why would you think that? There's TONS of people on here that agree BW is the best.

Never seen BW but loved the original G1 series, especially the dinobot episodes. Some bad episodes in series 2 but some very good ones also.

Not from the posts I've seen, but this may be because I've only been on here since December.

Beast Wars is a brilliant series with some of the most memorable TF characters of all time.

There is plenty of Beast Wars love in this fandom.

I used to hate Beast Wars with tremendous passion, like "WTF! Animals? Optimus is a monkey? That's stupid!" but my brother in law let me borrow season one, and I actually watched it in one sitting! I wanted more! So I went out and bought me the complete series. Now, it has become one of my favorite transformers series ever.

Dude, Beast Wars is like a Sacred Cow in TF fandom. Don't misunderstand my snark though, it's lionised for the right reasons and until Animated and Prime arrived was about as good as Transformers television ever got. Proper character development, story arcs, a truly threatening Megatron etc etc. It just never sat well with me personally.

And you answered your own question. I did enjoy watching BW but only like a few of the toys. I grew up with G1, hence why I personally enjoy it the most. Doesn't make me right or you wrong.

I hated it (maybe because I was about 19 or 20 when it came out) until I saw the g1 eipsodes and the return of starscreams ghost. I was sold and watched it until beast machines mysteriously disappeared.

I enjoy Beast Wars, but I'm not in love with it, if that makes sense. I think the cartoon is one of the best the TF brand has been graced with. I consider some of the toys to be my all-time favorites cos of how unique and detailed they are (Cryotek, Primal Prime, and Shokaract, for instance).

And yet, when other people ask why we don't get BW homages more often, I tend to react with "do we really need more of it?" Like, I enjoy buying Botcon sets, but for some reason I have no interest at all in the 2006 pre-Beast set.

I have no idea why I'm wishy-washy on this topic. But, Beast Wars as a series is great.

I think it is one of the best TF series around. I'd tie it for #1 with Animated. Hell my fav character of all time is Rattrap.

I LOVE BEAST WARS!!!! Beast Wars is the greatest Transformers series! Dinobot is the best Transformers character. Code of Hero is the best Transformers related episode ever. The story is amazing and the voice acting cast is ace! I can't wait to buy the DVDs!

If anyone honestly thinks there's not a whole load of love for BW here, or anywhere else, they're not looking closely at all.

Hell, look at this year's HoF discussions. Pretty much half the cast of beast wars had significant levels of support.

The same with me. I couldn't care less about Beast Wars until I saw Starscream in one of the episodes... I think "the Web" during Cheetor's dream? If that hadn't have happened, I wonder how popular BW would have been for a lot of people, or if the franchise would be where it is today?

But I did grow up with G1 too...sort of. Use to watch TF:TM and a few recorded episodes all the time as a kid.

BW to me just holds up much better as an adult. Both series I enjoyed when I was young, but BW still entertains me a lot and isn't just for nostalgia.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, I prefer the G1 toys to the BW toys :lol

Beast Wars is not lacking in love.

I was an OG (Original Geewuner) but became a fan with Beast Wars.

The story and characters are so strong that Beast Wars will be timeless. You can date the CGI but good writing is timeless.

The toys are still some of the best around.
