I didn't see any new classics at the toy fair coverage, does that mean that the rumours about an Arcee toy was just BS? Does it mean that we won't get any more classics 2011 than what has been anounced in generations/united?
Generations was said to continue through 2011. I doubt that just because we didn't see any at Toy Fair doesn't mean that it isn't coming up! We've seen a prototype Warpath already, yet we didnt' see Warpath at Toy Fair. So I'd assume that if we want to see more Generations stuff, then we probably have to wait for Botcon or SDCC.
As others have stated, Toy Fair is mainly about media-driven toys, hence why the movie took up most of the show.
Wasn't there a picture of Powerglide? It was a Scout. Yeah, I would have gone with a Deluxe myself... but I'll happily take this.
^ Well, not that it's not a perfectly good classics Scout Powerglide, but "technically" that's a movie tie-in toy.
It was also stated that the retooled heads in the instructions was done on purpose to let us know what is coming in the future.
Toy Fair is focused at retailers, so Hasbro's main focus is on the Movieverse. More on Classics will come through official channels later. If you don't see or hear anything about them from Botcon, then worry.
mkay, I'll save my worrying for later, just that I was really looking forward to seeing some new classics. Oh well, thanks guys, you've made me feel a bit more at ease now. Oh...and not to make a big deal of it or anything but I personally pass on that powerglide. Those movieverse/classics hybrids are too much of a compromise for me, like I dig the plane mode, robot mode is not awful, but the thing that puts me off the most is the head. He looks like an old wrinkly thing with fangs, powerglide is supposed to have that distinctive faceplate, ya know?
Take a good look at the picture above, you can clearly see his faceplate. The more I look at Powerglide the more I want him.
You must've missunderstood, I didn't say that he doesn't have one, I said that it is not the distinctive one. The faceplate he has on those pics looks more like a snout with molded fangs. And then there are the little things, like Powerglide didn't use to have a gray molded penis in the cartoon, nor did he have engine parts on his legs, a cockpit on his chest, a huffer like cowl, silver shoulders, etc, etc. Plus honestly, a dash of blue paint or lightpiping for the eyes would have done so much for the figure. I'll show ya some pics so you can see what I mean: To me the jizaitoys one is way more classic looking than the movieverse/classics halfbreed, and I'll hold out for one that looks alot more like the jizaitoys one, preferebly to scale with classics bumblebee and with a silver faceplate Or possibly just get the jizaitoys one instead. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not slagging the new powerglide and I'm happy for you if you've found something that fits in your collection, but for me, it's not good enough, they meant well, but mixing movie esthetics into it just took away the reason why I wanted a smaller one to begin with. I want a g1 looking classics powerglide that is to scale with my classics collection in botmode, simple as. Making a gigantic one loaded with gimmicks that affect the looks of the toy will not make it to my collection Making a small one that looks more like a movie design toy than a classic toy will not make it to my collection ...I bet some evil gnome at Hasbro is just now sitting and designing the perfect powerglide for me, and that it will be a hasbro exclusive that they will paint bright yellow, just to piss me off.
no pleasing this fandom is there, we get Ultra Powerglide its wah wah wah hes to big, now they give us a smaller powerglide and its wah wah wah doesnt look geewun enough
We didn't see any new PCC's either. I was hoping for one more wave after Spastic so the factions are evened out...
