Being a huge fan of Nick Kelsch's TF icons, I visit the site everyday. I have been checking the archives section and found that he posted icons to fill the days he missed when his site was down.

Now that the Icon of the Day site is back up and running, we have been treated to a loads of new icons - all you need to do is look around the site a little. Most interesting to me is that Nick has already posted some icons of the wave 1 of Transformers Classics and they look great!

Check them out here in the June 2006 section of the site: http://nickkelsch.com/transformers/month.aspx?month=06&year=2006

    Astrotrain is my favourite!

Yay... I am working on Go-bots now.

Let me know what you think... they are not that bad when it comes to toys!

But the classics turned out good. :)

The only gobots I have are the car combiners (six cars in one) - very cool gestalt. Anyone know the names for those guys? I wouldn't mind seeing an icon for that and Leader-1.

By the way Nick, keep up the good work. I always love seeing your new stuff (just don't forget to complete Cybertron/Galaxy Force).

Yeah, the line is almost finished and Nick's only done a handful of icons. He's really going to have his work cut out for him. Maybe he could do a double-month like he did for Beast Wars last year?

Looks nice. Wish they were a little bigger though, well Prime and Megs anyway. But still nice.

All hopes and dreams of a game with these icons died the day people infringed on my copyrights. Because of 'questions' relating to the origin of the icons I was (and still) unable to obtain a license.

So enjoy avatars as that is all there will ever be.

Just left-click on them, they grow bigger. See:

Giganto-B.... okay I guess it doesnt save as the bigger image. But just click on any of them and they get bigger. I had BB filling half my screen.

Here's a screen capture. Unfortunatly Photobucket shrank it down but you can kind of make out the top of the Internet Explorer window at the top of the pic and the Hotrod and Prime icons to the right of Giganto-B to get a sense of scale:

I know people may like the 100x100, but those always seem dead and lifeless to me.

Unless they are a highly detailed character.

If I made bigger ones regularly, they would a be a totally different style. Little ones are quick and dirty and get the point across :)

I always thought Nick used the toys as a reference for his icons - but that isn't the case with the Classics, unless Nick actually has them... which he doesn't. :p

EDIT: For the record, I also prefer the small 50x50 guys.

Thanks! But they're only sexy because a little bit of my own sexiness rubs off on them. I am merely a vessel through which the sexiness flows - though I haven't made a decent icon in like two years...

And I think Nick's are sexier.
