Wii is only one letter away from Win.

Looks like Nintendo's got their Wii little foot shoved up Sony's $600 ass.

How come we never see anything like: Nintedo's Wii Outsells Microsoft's X-Box 360 Nearly Twenty-Three-to-One in Japan? Instead you just get people and their snide little comments amounting at best to "LOL $600!" The 360 barely sold 11k units in Japan for May by the way. It's quite clear that the Nintendo Wii is a marketing phenomenon all it's own and captured its market perfectly, but all this focus on Nintendo vs Sony is just silly. The 2 systems have very different goals.

Because nobody cares about the 360 over there, and we know this. The fact is, 360 is kicking all ass over here, and Sony usually owns Japan.

    Not anymore, though!

nobody factors in the 360 because Microsoft didnt set themselves up like Sony did, saying people would get an extra job to buy the system, and that people would buy the system even if there were no games for it.

When someone says stupid shit like that, no matter who they are, you rub it in their damn face every chance you get, its the only way they'll learn. Constantly reminding Nintendo of their screwups seemed to do the trick.

I doubt being routinely outsold by the Gameboy Advance in the US is one of Sony's though.

i've read this on another site....and i didnt want to bring it up as it usually always end up as a fanboy fight.

but good news, big Wii fan...i like how people are trying out this new way of playing...but eventually the PS3 will sell way more (might be 2-1 or more than the Wii) when the better games come out.

    Motion-Control games = Wii
    Regular style games = PS3

so in the end, it doesnt matter as i will have both systems by the end of the year :D

I just linked to a news story. If/When I find a story on the internet comparing sales of the 360 and PS3, or the 360 and the Wii, I'll post em.

I'm not a console 'fanboy'. I love my Wii. I love my 360. I love my PS2. I love my PC more than all of them combined though, so I guess I'm a PC 'fanboy'.

I don't have a PS3 yet because I'm waiting for it to come down in price quite a bit. Sure I'll be waiting a few years. Doesn't mean I don't want the PS3.

I have close to $2500 invested in a Sony Grand Vega TV. I have a PS2. I love Sony. But, I bought a Wii this time around and hope Sony learns a lesson. I'll buy the PS3 when it comes down to ~$250. Price and innovative games absolutely sell consoles, not merely self proclaimed next-gen tech with a few $60 - $70 seen-that-done-that games.

Albeit, I've been gaming for 24 years... good god... 24 years...

You have no idea if the PS3 will ever outsell the Wii. Just as the PS3 is going to get better games, so will the Wii. and both have motion controls, the PS3's are just gimped in comparisson.

I own a PS3 and a Wii, so I really don't care which one comes out on top. I still gotta get a 360, but I'm holding off on that until the damn things are actually built in a way that doesnt make them die every week or two.

After spending all day yesterday playing the 360 for the first time, and owning a Wii, I am convinced that Sony won't make much headway this time around. The 360 is a really solid system that shines with its live and arcade features, and the Wii offers the unique gameplay.

Because the 360 was released so early (something that is traditionally a bad move) they really made it difficult for Sony to establish themselves thus far. The Wii is poised to take over, but I honestly hope the 360 ends up leading the way, I think they deserve it.

I've never understood the fanboy mentality that one system has to 'come out on top'. Why can't all three have their own 1st party/exclusive games that make each system worth owning? It seems silly to deny yourself a great gaming experience just because it's on a system made by a company other than the one you decided was the best. If you like games, play 'em.

its cause not everyone can buy all three systems...and the one that they have, they give more props/etc to.

while others that dont care even though they dont have that particular system...there are still more fanboys.

Actually, I think it's a bit different this time around. I believe many people (like myself) want Sony to take a hit so they'll get some sense knocked back into them.

that too...i think its always a good thing when you go down a spot...makes you rethink everything (just like Ford and GM).

as for MS in Japan, they're still trying to figure out what to do.
