I don't really understand the timing of this unveiling. It's an accessory that needs some kind of killer app to show off in tandem with the announcement (Wii Sports 2? surprise feature for Force Unleashed?). I assume that will come during Nintendo's press conference, but why not surprise everyone with the attachment at the same time?

Cool, but I think this should've been in the Wiimote in the first place

I love that word "bloody". Too bad us Americans rarely use it

Hopefully that Star Wars: Clone Wars game will utilize this because it's only on the Wii.

The problem about 1:1 gaming is that, you have to be bloody good to play a game of baseball or golf or boxing (I'm not from Europe. Did I use "bloody" correctly?). Another post mentioned a new Punch Out game. Cool, but if guys like Mr. Sandman and the Bruiser Brothers are in it, I'm getting my ass knocked out with 1:1 controls. But swinging a sword in 1:1 would be awesome if done correctly. I want to see No More Heroes 2 using 1:1.

Could be fun, so long as if it's an ad on games that use it can still support gameplay without it, but improve with it attached much like the rumble pack back with the N64.

This makes me wonder if existing Wii games support DLC in order to patch to support this. Wii sports would benefit from one of these since it at least tried to translate remote position directly into gameply, while most games more recognized basic gestures as commands.

I get the feeling this will be standard next gen.

I find it interesting that the mega-ton nature of this announcement (the potential for this device is off the fucking hook), only 11 posts?

    :(

Quite right. Honestly it's a nice idea, and I'm sure Nintendo will pack it in with a game to show off its use. I'm just hoping its something that really uses it in an immersive way. If it's just a new way to sell another bunch of mini-games well then I really couldn't care less.

i was looking at a wii... they're more expensive than i realised. a pad with a nunchuck is almost £50, times that by 4 and add in this new doodle thing and its not as cheap as people keep telling me.

E3. Last year of the Gamecube. Conference is over. Oh wait. It's not. One more thing to show. Twilight Princess reveal (before it was named). Journalists rise to a standing ovation complete with documented tears of joy.

    An embarassing day.
