I hate to admit it, but I'd buy it. Highly doubtful that it's legit though....

That looks awesome :)  I doubt it's legit at all though, I think we'd have heard about it before?

Copyright 2004-2005 at the bottom? Sounds highly dubious...

Definately a fake...even if it was real I doubt it would be the final version. The buttons folding down and facing out is not the best of things. Their position would make them highly suseptable to damage. Not to mention making the screen smaller would suck hardcore.

It says BY YANNIS BOLMAN at the bottom.

Agreed, this is more dubious than Megatron's bargaining posture.

That does look sweet though. If the side panels flipped over before they folded down they could have the bottom of the touch screen have slots for the buttons and d-pad to fit snuggly into.

If Nintendo actually made something like that I'd probably buy it up real quick.

And Megatron's bargaining posture is definitely dubious. HAHAHA... Anyway, that thing looks really cool, to bad it's fake.

HAHAHA, it is so damn dubious that even Megatron was dubious of himself and became Galvatron.

Aside from being as dubious as megatron's bargaining posture, why would they make that thing? It'd end up being too fat to fit into your pocket. Plus, considering the age range of people who own it(I'm not saying it's just for little kids, hell, I have a ds), the extra hinges would just be another point that could break. And, unless they locked into place with some mechanism(like a slide or something), they'd end up floppy, making it difficult to play, and with such a mechanism to lock the sides into place it'd be another thing to break, and have to fiddle with to start playing. The exposed buttons are also quite silly as well.

    Horrible concept for a design.

That's too bad. A new DS version would give me an excuse to buy a new one...

What happens if Nintendo decides to use a design close to that? Can that dude sue Nintendo for using his idea?

He probably could, but for the reasons I mentioned above, it's a very bad design.

it's fake. i remember seeing it just before the ds lite was unveiled, back when everyone assumed nintendo was redesigning the ds and nintendo kept saying that they weren't.

    Older than the interwebs!!

I think I first saw this shortly before the DS Lite was announced. But IMO, I do think it looks cool.
