Just bought a Nikon Coolpix s203 digital camera at Target, and was wandering if anybody here knew if it was microSDHC compatible? All info I can find about it, including the info straight from the user's manual, doesn't specify. I bought a Lexar 4gb microSDHC card, and just realized it might not actually work with the camera I got, lol. Thanks in advance for any and all help with this.

Anybody? There's bound to be SOMEONE who knows how to find out.

As far as I can tell, it supports SDHC cards, but I don't know if that includes the micro one's or not.

I'm guessing nobody here knows, so off to Google with you.

I've tried searching on Google, and I have yet to find any usefull information.

The only information I've been able to find comparing SDHC to microSDHC are size the physical size differences. What I'm worried about is the formatting. As far as I can tell, different cards are formatted differently, so for all I know the microSDHC cards are formatted differently from the way that the SDHC cards are formatted.

I've also put it up at Yahoo Answers, and haven't gotten any replys from that.

So you bought the camera and you bought the card...Seems like you could answer this pretty easily by placing the card in the camera and pressing the power button.

I haven't take the card of it's packaging yet. I don't want to risk Target not excepting it for an exchange if it doesn't work. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised if SD cards fell under the group of items that, to be returned/exchanged, must still be sealed in their original packaging.

Anyways, I might have actually found some usefull information:

    http://www.edgetechcorp.com/digital-media/micro-sdhc.asp

While not the same brand of card I got, it seems as though size could be the only difference betweent SDHC and microSDHC cards.

Does the camera even have a slot for the micro cards? Did you buy a micro card with an adapter? Did you call Target to ask about their return policy for open memory cards? Those are things you should have checked on before asking here. And if you're this worried, why not just return the card and by a regular sized one? It seems like a more sensible solution instead of waiting 4 days for an answer from a Transformers message board.

The MicroSDHC card should have come with an adapter that'll fit in a regular SDHC card slot, correct? Both the regular and Micros read and write exactly the same, so you should have no problem. Though honestly, it wouldn't hurt to just buy a regular card for your camera. Micros are usually meant for phones/PDAs anyways and getting a spare card just for camera use will save you the hassle.

This may be a longshot - but how about joining a Nikon owner's message board? I'm sure the question was already asked and you could find it by doing a forum search.
