    Rare shoes, customised by a well-known artist, AND featured on a popular television series?

    The guy's not asking ENOUGH.

    i know a lot of shoe collectors and they spend a lot on rare shoes like this. remember that transparencies-art-guy who had the g2 stunticons? i showed my friends that auction and another recent auction for a lansay tread, and they asked me why we are spending so much on plastic toys for kids, lol.

    Bullshit. All the really expensive toys are expensive because they're mint-in-box.

    How do you play with a sealed box? A rousing game of schrodinger's cat?

    Stack em like a big ol' fort? Especially if they're AFA'd.

    Damn I noticed how many questions people asked the seller. Most of them were just really bitchy comments and a bunch of folk calling shenanigans. This looks like a tough auction to run.

    meanwhile, at a sneaker collector forum...

    "omg guys chk it out! this guy on ebay is selling this overpriced 80s, brick of a kids toy, lame"

    i am both an art and shoe afficionado, and while that is hella expensive (keep in mind tho those things tend to be one of a kind), i can totally see where its coming from.

    screw you hypocrites who cant see the faults of your own hobbies. boo.

    Another collaboration by popular street grafitti artists, who are now paid by sneaker brands to design hype or doped up pair of "kicks".

    I was really into reading hypebeast.com on all the latest sneakers being released, but ultimately found it unfulfilling, just staring at my (so far) 2 pairs of limited edition sneakers in my room.

    It just goes to the point of...

    Nike X FUTURA X HUF X STUSSY with god knows what artist you've never heard of or give a shit.

    "X" = and
    "FUTURA", "HUF", "STUSSY" -> examples of artists who collaborated with the sneaker/clothing company.

    So then I switched to transformers again, after seeing the Nike Optimus and Megatron (with horribly made molds and passed on them) and found this hobby to be much more enjoyable, and with a more liquid secondary (both as a buyer and a seller).

    I'm much happier lining up for something with a group who's usually smarter, more educated, interesting, and sometimes older, instead of the sneaker lineups with people possibly packing heat or using money illegitimately obtained to pay for a pair of sneakers. LOL.

    I've seen an Adidas Superstar pair go for $10,000, one time, but then again, it was the last piece required to complete a large collection, and only like...10-20 pairs made in the world (came with a white leather suitcase, shoe trees, and cleaning brush). Now that was really worth the value.
