    Anyone wear these?

My fiancee swears by them and so I just got a pair yesterday. The Free 5.0. They were on sale for like $40 so I said why not.

The lightness of the shoes is definitely going to take some getting used to. As well as the sectioned soles of the shoes.

I'm sorry, I'm sure this point has been raised before, but why did you pay money for a shoe called Free?

I was misled as well. Although, I thought this thread was going to be on the pros and cons of a Nike free lifestyle (as in living without Nikes...)

Not that I have anything against Nike, but I had started rocking some Adidas shelltoes for so long that I haven't worn Nikes in years. And now that I can't find the Adidas I used to wear I have a pair of Asics...And a pair of black Chuck's :)

I been livin' that life for years, my friend. Unless Nike owns Columbia in which case I'm an unwitting hypocrite.

I've had my Nikes for about... eight years now (been with me to every Botcon!). I can't believe the things are still intact and in pretty good shape, although I've worn them so much that the soles are worn and have a few small holes... but nothing worth replacing them over. I just recently changed the laces the other day. Man I love these shoes... everyone else tells me how crappy they look... but after eight years my feet just don't like anything else! I had another pair that were exactly the same and wore those for three years. So let's see... I've essentially been wearing the same shoes for eleven years! I'm being buried with these things.

That is my shoe of choice. I've worn many a pair of those throughout the years. And I plan on continuing to buy those wherever I can find them.

And DF, I got a pair of these yesterday as well. If you like shelltoes, these are AWESOME. It has memory foam-like soles! They're the SS2G slides.

These are the Frees I'm talking about.

Wore them today. Felt weird as hell. A good weird though. It was like the most lightest shoe I've ever worn. It almost felt like I was walking barefoot. I felt like a ninja.

I've never heard Frees. I might try them out next time I'm at FinishLine, but I love my Nike Shox. I've been on a Nike/Adidas rotation the past few years, and the primary pair of Shox is about to join the backup in terms of wear, so it's about time to pick up some new Adi's.

They're really flexible so they take some getting used to. But really really light.

I've got pretty bad ankles, so that might not be the best thing for me.

I actually think I had the SS2 not the SS2G...I can't find them anymore. They were VERY similar to those but I dont think they were labelled over the stripe like those. Every time I wore a pair out I would buy another...I might just try to hunt down those SS2Gs...I cant seem to find anything like those anymore :(  I miss my Adidas

I might have to try those sandals...Im not much of a sandal guy, but they are good for around the house. Thanks RW

Yeah, I don't like the new SS2G's as much as the ones I have now. The ones I have now, the shelltoe lines are more straight. The new SS2G's shelltoes have the lines fan outwards more.

Those are the new ones that I don't like as much.

As for the slides, they're based on the new SS2G design, but the reason why I picked them up was because when you put them on, it's like your feet are having orgasms everytime you take a step. :lol
