UK got it first (picked one up the day it came out :D ), rest of the world should have it later this year. :)

It is an ARGOS EXCLUSIVE as far as the UK MARKET is concerned. That does NOT mean that it WON'T be available in the USA. It just hasn't been released in the US YET.

Hasbro US previewed Nightwatch Prime at BotCon 2007. Since when do Hasbro showcase foreign market exclusives to their US audience? ;)

Anyone who claims it's a UK exclusive just doesn't know better.

More likely the Ebay seller does know better but is preying on those who don't.

Oh and Action Masters weren't the last U.K. exclusive toys - some G2 toys were.

Fan2Fan also shows it as being set for release in Japan as well this fall FYI.

Neither of them were "UK exclusives". All of them came out in other European countries as well, and some of them even in Australia and New Zealand.

I guess that's why I saw some color differences on eBay. At the time of the inital UK releases, it was well before the Net and eBay. I had a direct contact overseas for trades, so that's how I got the UK Actionmasters and G2s in the year of release.

There was a whole bunch of stuff released to European markets in the early 90s, though a fair bit made it to Australia and Canada as well. Gold box reissues, Overlord, Turbomasters, Predators, that kind of thing.

Generally, as the US is where Transformers sells strongest, it's always going to have the full assortment, with other territories missing out as they don't sell so strongly there.

We'll leave the reasoning for why for another thread, though.

I don't believe it any more than I believe that the Swerve Aveo is going to be limitted to just 2000 pieces for a brand new mold :)

Chevy paid for it. It's theirs. If they want it to be limited, it will be limited.

Have we had any actual confirmation? The only sources I've seen quoted as it being exclusive to Chevy are the 3 auction sellers...and I don't count that as anything more than trying to hype their own sale...

The latest even clains it to be a China only promotion...if that was the case I don't think we'd see the American "Universe" instructions.

Only thing I can cite is "secret inside sources" expressing surprise to even see this thing at all (as in, "never heard of before"), which says a lot about how bizarre it is.

Everyone I've talked to with Chevy (ironic that I have no TF good TF insiders, but I do have some Chevy ones :p  ) don't seem to know anything about this. In the words of one of their own marketing guys "It would make much more sense for us to do a limited number of Aveos with a TF deco theme to match the general released Transformer, like they do with the Movie Ironhide GMC package, than it does to offer an exclusive toy with purchase of an $11,000+ vehicle. Most incentives dealers offer for just taking a test drive are more than the value of the toy"

Here for taking a test drive of an Aveo or HHR you get 2 free tickets to an Oakland A's weekend game + free parking (Runs about $40-$50...heck, just parking is $15...more than even the KB price of a deluxe)
