So...you may remember this from my Inferno WIP thread. I just thought I'd post these because the black turned out so nice. This is still a WIP, the end result will be more like a real wasp. Let me know what you think.

Also...if anyone has any ideas what I'm doing wrong with my photos, I'd appreciate some advice. The background color seems to change based on how close I am to the subject.

Dunno, might be a case of focusing, or light going through the purple wings.

Speaking of wings, what paints do you use? Cause if you use tamiya, find a bottle/can that says "For Polycarbonates" for the wings, clear parts are made from polycarbonates.

Looking good so far, will be keeping my eye on this.

That looks great! I'm a sucker for all black TFs and the scheme really suits him. I like the pink translucent bits with the black too. I think your camera is just auto focusing differently between the foreground and background. More light would probably help, but the photos still look nice.

Very nice. I think I'll need something bigger than a shoe to swat that thing.

looks to me like your white balance settings are off on your camera. Also might want to add another light as well.

the custom looks good. you can't go wrong with black and purple.

Thanks for the positive comments. I'm hoping to get my lightbox/camera set up a bit more reliable. I don't know...some pictures turn out great, some just look horrible. These are the best of about 30 photos, and I couldn't get a side view for the life of me.

Have you tried messing with exposure settings? Most digital cameras have various pre-settings or allow for manual adjustments. Try setting yours to 400 and see if that helps. Also changing the white balance (as per Redline's suggestion) could help.
