bleachness: Gene Simmons' son Plagiarizing Bleach?
This is too far...
hummm, they seem pretty close. I don't know. I'd have to read the entirety of both comics to make a statement. Out of context images are just that, out of context.
Plus, it's manga and all that just looks alike to me.
HA HA HA HA thats some funny stuff right thar. Might have to track down a copy down a copy or 2 of incarnate before its pulled, because by looking at the linky it will be pulled.
Wow. C'mon Lawsuit!
His version can't be any worse than the original Bleach.
Or not far enough... Where is your OUTRAGE?!
Incarnate with a KISS! of Bleach
I was going to say that artists are usually inspired by other things but... wow. That's a lot of tracing going on there.
Ok, that's just flat-out stupid.
Way to make it close to 100% noticeable, Simmons, you idiot.
Some of it was flat out Greg Landish. Crazy.
That was the first name that came to mind.
Let's be honest though, it's becoming rife through the industry, look at Marvel and DC, they've been pretty much ripping off each others ideas for years.
Oh yeah, the ideas are always recycled at this point but after going through the link and the 16 pages of comments then the Facebook page I was quite surprised by the "art". Most of it is just preexisting pieces of art that were manipulated to be flipped or reversed then straight traced.
Wow, you'd think he might have tried to be a bit more subtle about it...
There is too much to ignore the blatant tracing going on.
At least Radical has stated that they are going to look into it, and they respect the integrity of artists' work.
We'll see how that plays out, but at this point it's better than Joe Q stating that Greg Land's work is just "inspired by" other artists and every artist finds similar "inspiration".
I wonder if Joe's in talks with Nick Simmons to give him some work at Marvel.
It annoys me to no end when people call comics "American Manga". Almost as much as I hate the term "Graphic Novels". Slightly off topic, but irksome to me none the less.
Also, LOL @ the tracing.
Are you serious?
Read some of the posts he made on that board at the bottom of the article here. Really, Nick--homages? Is that what they call intellectual property theft nowadays?
This has to be my favorite from the three quotes -
I have absolutely no interest in anime, manga, whatever. But i've heard of Bleach.
Also - "When I channel my energy when drawing my book sometimes I can pull stuff in that I never seen before. It's like i'm possessed when I start thinking and drawing. Perhaps I just got on the same wave length that all artists share."
EDIT - Just a thought, just imagine if Pat Lee called him up and asked to do a collaboration on a book.
I dont even read comics, have no idea what any of these titles are, and can still see it's blatantly plagairising
yeah never read either and it is obviously a direct copy in most and just reworked in others.
He'd fail in my classes, those are very obvious.
Separate names with a comma.
