Damn son. That is great looking. How did you ink with such straight lines. The marker work will look great.

It's a bit refreshing to see someone using markers for coloring given our age of digital coloring. So far, so good :thumb

Do the markers run over the original ink? I can see the lines are dulled, but yet still show an outline in the color used. Or do u plan on re-inking after the color is done. Do you just use two different shades of blue to get the shading affect or is a blending marker used?

Sorry for the 20 questions, I have started doing some marker work, but yours is so damn good I am looking for some pointers.

i'm not sure what you mean by run. the lines do dull some but not enought that they disapear. in person you can see them much better then in the pictures. i'll take some more up close pics to show you what i mean. i may re-ink in the black areas but i'm not doing the entire thing.

i used 3 blues for the glass, but everything else is just one value and i go back over it after it dries to make it darker. no blending marker used. like i said, i'm new to this so i don't know how much help i can be.

yes and no. in the toon they are red with a blue back. the us toy had red hands on the original release, and the tru reissue and my tak version has blue hands that move in and out in bot mode.

as you can see, i've taken creative liberties from both the original design and nick's drawing, incorporating aspects of what i would want as a masterpiece pmop (g1, pmop, masterpiece, toon and toy). i hope that i am able to incorporate those aspects and characteristics into my attempt at a masterpiece pmop kitbash that i'll start not to far down the road.

Typically my process with markers is to color first, then ink the line art after the colors are finished, as the inked lines can bleed as prime3261 has noted. Sometimes such bleeding can be a happy little accident depending on the circumstance. :)

Keep at it, buddy! It continues to look sharp!

i'm just now becoming comfertable with drawing bots, atleast in my own style which this isn't although i did put a little in it. the bots aren't that hard unitl the hands and how/where the arms/legs/ connect and the elbows/knees come in. that's what gets me most the time. also, i'm unsure about a lot of the angels of shadows on this thing so hopefully when it's finished non of them will look to out of place.
