Vegas just had their expansion draft last night. Since they took Fleury, I wish them nothing but the best. Fleury has been the goalie for my Pens ever since I was old enough to even understand hockey; which was like his first or second year. The guy is extremely kind and generous too. There's lots of great stories about him in the locker room, and he basically used an appearance at a local Dick's Sporting Goods to thank Pittsburgh fans for all the years of support the other night. Hell, he even put out a video to encourage my college's hockey team even though Fleury has no connection to Penn State really. I'm sad to see him go, and I'm pretty much always going to consider him a Pittsburgh guy no matter where he ends up.

They said the Vegas fans cheered the most when both Marchessault and Fleury were selected.

Thanks, never know what the etiquette is a new season.

WOW! He was part of the future there.

Rangers got rid of Stepan before his NMC kicked in. Not sure if the Yotes fleeced us again, but I'll wait and see. Come to NYR Shattenkirk!

    Meantime, LET'S GO RANGERS!

I'm excited to see what the lineup looks like for the Golden Knights in their inaugural game. Going to buy tickets for the Red Wings @ Vegas in October. It'll be odd to root for opposing teams in the same game.

Interesting draft lastnight. Florida drafted Owen Tippit. I hope Tallon does not trade him later on like he did to Lawson Crouse.

A lot of Pens fans don't really like the Ryan Reaves trade. At this point though, I have complete faith in Jim Rutherford to make the right decisions. If they traded Fleury last season when a lot of people wanted to, they would have been screwed in the playoffs since Murray didn't play until the Eastern Conference Final. A Blues fan told me he's been working very hard on his skating, so that could be a bonus to come with the added muscle to protect players. It's not a sexy trade, but we get another 2nd round pick out of it next year too if I'm remembering the details correctly.

A lot of European players were drafted in the 1st round. Only 6 American players were drafted.

Glad Vegas took Cody Eakin from my Dallas Stars. 3 goals, 9 assists and -7 last season is no big loss.

Hopefully they'll pick up Shattenkirk or Alzner in free agency.

    Is Vegas baby friendly?

I really want to go to the Rangers/Knights game Jan 7th but I'll have 3 babies in tow!

If you just go down to the Strip to see the game, it should be as family friendly as any other arena. If you want to check out LVBLVD and have young ones, I would advise going during the day. Less chance of seeing: hookers, drunks, addicts, nudity, etc...

I just hope he signs with a team that will let him play and not end his career prematurely due to limited ice time.

To be honest I will be surprise if Jagr does resign with Florida next season for less money. But money should be less important to him if he wants to continue to add more goals and assists to move up to second place in goals.

I want Jagr to keep playing too. Ideally, I'd love to bring him back to Pittsburgh for one last Cup run for him, but we're pretty loaded right now. The biggest hole that needs filled at the moment is another Center since Matt Cullen is likely retiring. Even the Wilkes Barre-Scranton players fill in nicely at wing, and it's a much smaller investment in them than a future Hall of Fame player
