So Peyton's no longer a Colt.

I hope he goes to the Chiefs so they can beat up on the Raiders. :D

I just saw this too and I'm not to sure why I was shocked. I knew it was coming. Eagles under Andy Reid for another year. I can't take that any more. The Giants will win the Super Bowl again.

Yup. People always look at me like I'm from outer space when I tell that I'm an A's fan and a Niners fan. :lol

I always put it this way to them: when I grew up in the Bay Area, the Raiders were in LA. I was taught to dislike anything from LA. :D

Plus, I grew up with the champion A's and Niners. Those were some great years.

    I miss them dearly. :(

I used to work for the A's too. :D

Its kind of sad. Peyton and the Colts won't be together anymore after 14 great years

Goes to show how the business side is simply cutthroat.

Happened to me when the Niners let Montana go.

Except the Niners had Steve Young to continue the dynasty, the Colts are left with a rookie QB who could end up a bust.

I hope Manning goes somewhere he can beat up his old team, twice a year would be nice. The Titans and Jags don't have a real answer at QB...

As long as he doesn't go to the Redskins, it's all good.

    True.

The part of me that feels bad for Peyton hopes that Luck sucks in the NFL just so the Colts front office is left with egg on their faces.

Plus Luck went to Stanfurd. :p

That's the only thing I have against Jim Harbaugh. :D

I think he should go to the 49ers. Though I'm a Bears fan and I want them to win the SB every year, I wouldn't mind seeing Peyton Manning win one more

    That's a point that I keep forgetting.

If he wants to choose a team based on the chances of winning another Super Bowl, I'd say if the Niners can do what they did last season (not sure myself if they can) then the Niners are probably his best bet to get there.

If the Niners get him and then manage to snag Mike Wallace who has been on the Niners' radar, then WOW.

But if not the Niners, I'm kinda hoping he goes to the Chiefs or the Dolphins.

I think it's criminal for an organization to get TWO #1 draft picks that turns out to be great QBs. No team is that lucky. So even though I have a feeling Luck will be anything but a bust, I do hope that'll be the case so Colts can experience some cellar dwelling years.

Still pissed that for that one year Niners had a chance to draft a franchise QB with their first pick, they got Alex Smith instead of Aaron Rodgers. Yes I am still bitter even after all these years.

As long as Peyton doesn't go to the Chiefs I don't really care where he goes.

Yeah but who's to say if Rodgers would have the career he's having if he got stuck with as many head coaches, offensive coordinators and the Yorks for so long.

If the Saints sign Moss they'll feel better about letting one of their FA WRs go.

And if so, hopefully the Niners pick up said FA WR. :D

Man, we've had plenty of those kind of years :lol  Manning was what got us out of them.

I knew it was coming all along, but I choked up when I saw that "BREAKING NEWS" flash across ESPN. I absolutely hate that Manning is leaving because I know he's going to come into Lucas Oil Stadium one day and just fucking torch the place. Yeah, we're lucky as hell to have the #1 pick which will probably be Luck, but it doesn't do anything knowing 18 is going to go to a team and make them a contender...and it's very probable he'll have another Superbowl run coming.

I have to disagree with the 49ers talk though. Alex Smith won that spot this past year and that organization is finally on solid footing to back him. No way they make an attempt for Manning.

Alex Smith certainly deserves to come back a Niner after last season.

    But here's the thing.

Peyton makes the Niners better. So if ownership wants instant gratification, Manning is the best chance to get them there. While Smith certainly showed what he could do in the playoff game against the Saints, much of the season was still pretty mild in terms of numbers.

Sure, there's only one number that matters and that's wins, but I'd say ability-wise and football mind-wise, Manning is still better than Smith.

Now if Harbaugh has his way, it's Smith all the way. I think the last thing Harbaugh wants is to give up calls to Peyton on the offensive side of the ball. That and Harbaugh is probably pretty loyal to Smith and vice versa. But look what loyalty got Peyton. Release and somewhat controversial scrum with the owner before it.

The ownership can always think of it this way as well: get Manning, let Smith go, and have Kaepernick learn under Manning.

The Colts should've given their pick to the Niners. They'd be able to keep Peyton and the Niners would be able to draft Luck who played under Harbaugh at Stanfurd.

    Everyone wins. :D
