For the first movie the got Peter Cullen aka Optimus Prime for the first movie (and well, for the rest of the movie perhaps) and in the Second movie they got Frank Welker aka Soundwave. What do you think should be the next original Actor or Actress and for what character?
Or maybe we should let somebody else play the iconic roles.. Otherwise, what's the point of even making another movie if every optimus prime is played by peter cullen?
Technically, there were two original G1 voice actors in the first Bay TF movie and three in Revenge of the Fallen. Starscream was voiced by Charlie Adler, who voiced the Aerialbot Silverbolt in the original series. If any other members of the original cast are given voice roles in TF3, I'd say Corey Burton would get my vote, as would Gregg Berger (G1 Grimlock), Dan Gilvezan (G1 Bumblebee), or Michael Bell (G1 Prowl). Really, any of the original cast would be great to include but those are some who had more prominent roles and come to mind first. Even though Mark Ryan voiced Bumblebee's one spoken line so far, I would love to have BB get his voice back in TF3 and have Dan Gilvezan reprise the role. At this point in the movies, another continuity error wouldn't make much difference. Gary Chalk or David Kaye would also be welcome additions.
Worst possible choices. Are you serious? All three would just moan into the microphone with the occasional "Brains..." thrown in.
That's not a bad idea either.I would love to hear him as a Transformer again. As for my recommendation: Corey Burton!Corey Burton!Corey Burton! Or Gregg Berger.
Chris Lat....oh Scatman Croth.....oh Robert Sta......oh Leonard Nimoy as Galvatron Frank Welker as Skywarp Corey Burton as Shockwave, Brawn
Welker was indirectly involved with the first movie as he voiced Megatron in the 2007 video game and the Walmart exclusive bonus DVD "Beginnings" motion comic. I would like to hear Corey Burton voicing Shockwave or any voice for the third film. Otherwise, it's become a non-issue for me as long as Cullen voices Prime. Even as a purist, I'm okay with "recasting" voices otherwise since it's been 20+ years and the movie features characters that differ from their G1 namesakes anyway. But I most definitely don't want a "celebrity voice" cast simply for their celebrity status and their presumed box office impact. The actors who give the best auditions and have the experience to back it up should be given the roles.
... But that's what "iconic" tends to mean. Executed according to tradition. To many people, Cullen is the iconic Optimus Prime voice in much the same way Kevin Conroy has become the iconic Batman voice. But put me down for Burton as Shockwave, too. - Coeloptera
