    Hi all.

I'm relatively new to the boards, but a transformers fan from the beginning. Having just recently picked-up a MP Convoy, and seeing the wonderful treatment they're giving to the upcoming Starscream, I just have to wonder what character will come next, if any?

With Prime and Starscream done, I'm wondering what other iconic characters they could/would do. Repaints of SS aside (as well as Skywarp/Thundercracker)Megatron springs immediately to mind... Any thoughts on this?

Sorry buddy, but this goes in the TFGD forum and not N&R...

But to answer your question, we have the following thus far:

    MP-01 Convoy
    MP-02 Magnus
    MP-03 Starscream
MP-04 Convoy with Trailer and no Roller

Its a pretty good chance the next new mold would be an Autobot. And something repaintable.

A new Masterpiece mold is a good while away. At this point it's nothing more than speculation.

Probably one of the next Masterpiece releases will be a Seeker, most likely Skywarp. Takara may well follow the pattern of Convoy with a different character repaint in 6-8 months followed by an "improved" version around the release of the next Masterpiece, if they go through with another at all. These things are big and expensive, its been two years since Convoy now so I'd imagine it'll be around the same length of time for the next one - unless the movie kicks things into high gear over there and Takara makes a new one to coincide with that?

My guess is that we would get Skywarp/Thundercracker, which basically would be repaints of up coming MP Sratscream.

I'd really like to see an Anime MP Screamer followed by Skywarp and Thundercracker. I just hope T-T doesn't start making the MPs out of plastic like they did with the BTs. How about an MP Skyfire? (Not Jetfire)

I'd imagine along with a bunch of seeker repaints the next Masterpiece toy would be one out of Megatron, Soundwave and Grimlock. Maybe Rodimus Prime too, knowing Takara.

TakaraTomy will probably try to maximise the use of existing moulds before we see any new ones, so Starscream repaints then... or maybe even another MP-1 repaint (Black Convoy?).

I'd see Hot Rod before Rodimus, considering their reluctance to release Convoy with a trailer I doubt they'll release a figure who's mostly trailer in vehicle mode. Plus Hot Rod could have a lot of the little gimmicks they love, a visor that comes down over his eyes and a buzzsaw that flips out to replace his left hand, both from the movie. Maybe light up headlights for blinding heralds of Unicron.

I'm guessing the Masterpiece line will probably see the release of the following over the course of the next couple years: show-accurate Starscream, Tundercracker, show-accurate Thundercracker, Skywarp, show-accurate Skywarp, Black Convoy, Black Convoy with trailer, and Ultra Magnus with Convoy's trailer. And possibly a USA edition MP Convoy with the same paintjob as Hasbro's upcoming 20th Prime re-release (released without the trailer, then again with the trailer).

I'll have to agree that the most likely new characters will be Skywarp/Thundercracker, and at LEAST one reissue of starscream with "improved" colors. Transforming toys of this caliber are ungodly-expensive to develop, so it's only natural that they'll try to milk 'em for every penny they can.

I wonder how any potential "future" autobots will be scaled with each other? I think Smokescreen and MP-1 Prime were both 1/24, were they not? I'd be curious to see if new autobots will be scaled as per their car versions, or robot modes to make them all bigger and more conformal to the Masterpiece lineage.

Soundwave, Grimlock, Rodimus and Megatron all sound like good choices

And Sunstorm :lol  and maybe if we're lucky trailer armour for Magnus.

MP-1 wasn't quite 1/24, more like 1/26 or 1/28 so I heard. This is born out if you compare the size of the passenger compartment of MP-1 and with any Alternator and also the relative size of the doors.

I think what will define the scale of the alternate mode will, in the end, be the height of the robot rather than an informal scale.
