Anybody heard if there's another one in the works? Japanese, of course.

Plus, I don't know who posted it on another thread, but somebody posted a youtube vid of an entirely CGI Godzilla. Man, I wish they would just do this. He looked so great!

Last time I checked he's in retirement until his 60th anniversary (2013/2014). Long wait ahead.

For awhile, there was talk of an IMAX 3D remake of Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster, but that was a long time ago, and even its wiki page is gone.

I may get the hate of true Godzilla fans but I hope we someday see that sequel to the 1998 Godzilla or an American film to celeberate the 60th anniversary as well.

Yeah I get that there's going to be that aforementioned Japanese film and that it's going to be awesome and shit but I know it's still going to be a guy in a rubber suit. I would like to see another chance at a CG Godzilla.

God the animated series handled the "sequel" to the 1998 film so well. Wish I could find that on DVD.

I'm hoping if there is a film sequel that the Godzilla in the film is the one from the TV series. That guy kicked all sorts of ass. Best episode is the one where he beats the shit out of the resurrected 1st Godzilla.

The US Godzilla was often a guy in a rubber suit as well. Which surprised me back when it came out.

After the last movie they said that they where not making anymore for at lest 5-10 years to give people a chance to miss the big G.

There are 3 DVDs out now, and they each have three episodes and sell for about six bucks. I love it!!! American Godzilla was awesome, and was set up to fail in Final Wars. If they actually used the new one from the cartoon series, it wouldn't be over in thirty seconds.

Man, I wish they had made a sequel to Goji '98!!!

Well it's working, cause I'm kinda missing Big G right now.:(

On the bright side, at least I could go watch his old movies and such. Plus in the meantime, I can get to know Clover and Big C (Cthulhu).:D

What they need to also do is release every movie on DVD, in their original aspect ratios, with Japanese and English audio options and English subtitles as an option. There are less than 30 movies, IIRC, and getting them all out on DVD should be a no-brainer. If they came out with a big G-Box like the Japanese version released around Final Wars time but for the US, I'd be very tempted to grab it.

Oh hell yes. If I could get all of them in one set I wouldnt even mind owning Godzillas Revenge.
I could really do with replacing those old VHS copies too.

So far, the only Godzilla movies not to be released in R1 DVD with the original aspect ratio and optional Japanese audio with English subtitles are:

    Godzilla vs. Megalon
    Godzilla (1984)/Godzilla: 1985
    Godzilla vs. Biollante
Godzilla and Mothra: The Battle for Earth
    Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah
    Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla
    Godzilla vs. Destroyah

So as you can see, the Heisei era is being shafted pretty badly (not that I mind, as I really disliked the Heisei era).

With Sony/Classic Media coming out with so many fantastic sets, though, these movies are bound to be covered eventually.

What ever the case...here's looking foward to the future anni of Gojira. Don't know if I'd want to see Zilla again considering that Godzilla destroyed it in Australia in Final Wars.

Destroy all Monsters still needs rescuing from ADV's shitty letterboxed dub-only release, which annoys me no end sine its one of my favorites.

Ahhh, you're right; I forgot about that one. So yeah, only two more flicks and we'll have all the Showa Era Godzilla movies given proper DVD treatment (though for the life of me I still can't find that King Kong vs Godzilla/King Kong Escapes two-pack).

That was a pretty good cartoon. I was just sad they never used a single classic Godzilla villain. Cyborg Godzilla was pretty cool, but it doesn't replace Mecha Godzilla.

Ach, I also forgot that Godzilla 2000 has yet to receive a proper R1 release with the original Japanese audio.

Hrm, we're missing more than I thought...
