Now I should say that these are not necessarily brand new discoveries for the whole fandom, just things that for the most part I have been introduced to in the last year or so having taken a significant break from the scene. One or two of them might still come as a surprise to you, and that’s certainly what I’m hoping.

I was tinkering with my Mini-bots before reading this artcle, and I was thinking that I don't have any IGA, nor Estrela ones yet. And now there's a new one to add to my list, hehe.

Thanks for the article Maz, yet another terrific one. :)

I'll be highly surprised if there are people who failed to be surprised by your surprises when it comes to vintage t-formers...

Every time I see articles about all those mini-bot repaints and variants, I am glad I don't actually like minibots that much: the 'gotta catch 'em all' with every variant would be very annoying.

Eventually I'm gonna have to set limits. Like as soon as I can afford to shell out on South American variants.

Tell me about it, any Powered Convoy in that condition is a museum piece, never mind a chrome trailer issue, nevermind a red-cabbed one haha!

I'd be willing to believe that if I had been around, but 4 years away is a long time!

Amen. Not counting the 4 carded Joustra minis, I own 2 variant minibots and they're both Windchargers.

I sometimes feel Minibot collecting is almost a separate entity to overall TF collecting, and the amount of auction scouring, filtering and luck it requires to bag a once-seen Mexican mini or Peruvian mini is crazy.

Finding a Peruvian Brawn in a lot of beat up He-Man junk from Scandinavia is the epitome of what I'm talking about :lol

^^ Things like variant Minibot collecting is why I keep a lid on things with my US collection of G1, 1984-90, and even then I don't go for variants. Pandora's box = shut tight :D
