Interesting. I think the most interesting is that the TF movie is going to Japan with little to no delay from the US theatrical release.

Good on ya, Japan! Get them Classics! :)

Ooooh. I wonder if these are going to be straight up re-issues, imports of Hasbro's BWX figures, or a continuation of Beast Wars Reborn complete with repainting/minor retooling? I'm definitely hoping for the latter.

I'm fairly certain these things will happen when the movie gets released in Japanese:

    - Japanese fans will complain about the poor dub
    - Some otaku group will do a fansub of the Japanese dub that features lines in abysmal English ("Comboi-tachi go in planet Seibertron") and lots of swearing
    - Some people will praise the fansub for being "more accurate"

I am sure there will be just enough of a delay so that when the fans react badly to something in the movie, they will dub in a line at the end with someone, who is not on screen yelling "Convoy is still alive" but in Japanese of course.

I bet those classics will just be imports of hasbro's.

Yawn. Do we care whether Japan gets classics, or even movie toys. Is there anyone on EARTH outside of Japan that would even try to import them when they're released here first?

I encountered people on this very board who were willing to import a toy that was just the US toy in US packaging with an additional "e-Hobby" sticker on the box because the stock photos made it look as if the plastic was slightly darker than on the US toy. :rolleyes2

If Megatron (and maybe Astrotrain) were repainted in G1 colors, I'd have to say yes. Cant say that for the rest, though

Well, actually... last time I was in Japan I noticed how the theatrical releases were subtitled and not dubbed. So I don't see that happening....

It would be cool if Tak-Tom came up with their own versions of the Classics. Who knows? Maybe Cliffjumper would get a new head? Megatron, Astrotrain in G1 colors? Black Versions like we saw in G1? Maybe even some new Classic Characters. Then again, this is Tak-Tom so if the Classics don't get the eHobby treatment, the Classics may be messed up like the Kiss-Play and the MPs. In that case, no imports for me, thanks.

The other point being kinda missed here in the undertone. Will they make additional figures for classics with repaints, remolds, or spotty new molds.

Initially I see them just porting over the current classics. But with that being more collector oriented while still kid friendly it could move on to even new waves if the sales are high enough.
Here's hoping if anything it just gives hasbro reason to make more.
High Sales = Feed the fire while it's burning well, and they still have a wave to go before worrying about more or not...

Some easy remolds are sitting here too, the energon strongarm brawn, Ratchet, ironhide(both he and ratchet could use E Rodimus's head on E Inferno's body or even snowcat's body, powerglide would be another simple one as a repaint, wheeljack as well, Cos-mo and oh god what I wouldn't give for the insecticons or reflector even. Classics fembots, classics A3, classics Orion Pax... *Dreams on of a toyline that may go on*

God If hasbro or TomyTakara do continue it on, they need to add a basics side for some of those. Or heck more deluxe's. Or G1 painted superion Maximus.
Classics makes me giddy and my wallet empty, but it needs more!!!!!!
I need a new fix man, 101 G1 Bots to go from just season 1-2 all pre unicron, although Kup, springer, and arcee are needed plus ultra magnus.
It's the tf Fans crack man.
    *Dies from withdrawal of classics*

It says they're going to (maybe) have their own completely new line in the first paragraph and no ones even vaguely interested?

It said there will be a "New style series". That doesn't sound like a Japan-exclusive line...Heroes toys?

Well… yeah. It's certainly in general easier and quicker for me in the UK to order toys from Takara than it is to get them from Hasbro US or wait on the offchance Hasbro UK releases them.

Don't really have enough info to say that for Classics yet, but it's certainly possible that it'll once again be the case that Takara cost much the same and are simply easier to order from. But more importantly, this means a possibility for some changed colours, and I'd certainly be interested in a Classics Megatron with red transparent plastic rather than green.

Considering the last new TF line in Japan was Kiss Play? I'm sort of dreading it.
