We have seen the unpainted resin prototype of Moonracer in a slide that was shown at Hascon.
Yes, like King Arthur and the Transformer Knights and Unicron being Earth, yes, tons of G1 plot points
A few weeks ago Bayformer fans were saying how people who like G1 are the minority and they should just accept that Hasbro isn't making stuff for them anymore
I really doubt it was the same people.
The point is, the general consensus I observed in the online fandom was:
1. G1 fans are living in the past and need to let go
2. Bayformers are successful and here to stay, so sit back enjoy the ride because they make lots of money
3. G1 fans are the minority (often credited at 10%), and that's why the movies are not fulfilling what Geewhiners ask for
Now suddenly the Bayformers are the underdog that needs to be championed due to being unrepresented?
I'm curious, when did this sentiment change?
So...I haven't followed this thread, so sorry for the question...but was Grotesque up on HTS earlier? Or is it supposed to be available later?
Ah, I totally forgot about that. Thanks!
When they had the realization that Hasbro only cares about G1 in any meaningful way, if an when these movies stop making money and are cancelled hen they'll end up in the same position as Beast Wars, RID, The Unicron Trilogy, and Animated ignored by Hasbro and only refereed to when the brand has an anniversary to celebrate.
Giant nerds living in tgeir parents basement?
John Warden happened? Seriously I miss Aaron Archer. That genius of a man defined Hasbro's best and creative golden era. Sadly thats gone nowadays imo.
Besides Beast Wars and Beast Machines, everything is a poor version of G1 anyways
Time for something new
I'd disagree, but Beast Wars/Machines are part of G1. And in my opinion the G1 cartoon is worse than most of those.
The G1 one, sure. The RTS one was superb. The head on this one makes it look like a Go-Bot.
Not sure that's the wording, to get what you want. I'm absolutely a G1 fan, but I'm probably (moreso) a "Classics" fan (in the sense that these are updates and not slavish recreations.) I don't mind the G1-heavy angle of Generations, let's face it - that's what sells. But I don't want to see a sole focus on strictly G1. I wouldn't mind new characters, more deluxe-size "minibots" (although that is G1,) as well as some occasional updates of figures from other series. That last one is tough, the "updated" Beast Wars and Armada figures done in Generations have been slow sellers, to the point of clearance - that makes it hard to argue for more. I just don't want the Generations line to get burned out just doing G1.
That said, I wouldn't buy any movie-style figures. Don't care for the style. Just as I'm not going to buy Prime or Animated, I don't like the stylized look.
Whoa now... RID and AEC weren't very "G1" either. Neither are the movies, for that matter. Animated and TFPrime are the most "G1nny" of the other series. Even they have a handful of exceptions.
Well... they're part of the same continuity, but there is no one single G1 continuity. When someone says G1, I assume they mean 1984-1990 in the US (and a few years later in EU and JPN). As years went by, BW, BM, G2, etc. all got lumped into the G1 continuity, but it isn't really G1.
The Ultimate Doom - DOTM. Just one example.
Yeah no idea who that was, but I definitely disagree.
You guys are hopeless
Hasbro/Takara consider them part of it, the only one with any real question about it for me CRID, considering that Car Robots is part of JG1, but RID is it's own universe.
I just want my mp5 motherfucking barricade.
Yeah, that gets complicated.
But G1 and BW and RID and Armada and Animated and whatever are all different series. Whether or not they connect to each other is a different story. G1 is still G1.
I see your point, but for me, I take into consideration what each series considers canon, so for me BW, BM and CR are all G1, but RID, the Unicron Trilogy Animated, The Movies and Aligned aren't.
I don't care, it's not what I signed up for. I came for MPM Barricade and its their job to deliver.
I miss him too unlike john, he would've showed better supports for the Movie lines and made sure all characters featured in it got toys
