I'm certainly glad your brother is okay, and the loss of life is unfortunate.

That being said, I admit I LOL'd at "Transformer explosion."

Yeah, I did too at the title for a moment there. So did my wife actually. Then she proceeded to call her brother.

    Still no answer.

    Crap.

Dude, if he texted you, I bet you don't have anything to worry about.

Especially if a transformers exploded, there's bound to be power outages, which can definitely interfere with cell-phone service. Factor in all the calls being made by people with family members who ride trains in New York, it's almost certainly just a connection issue.

I know the waiting has gotta be stressful, but give it a while, and I imagine he'll call.

Yeah, I sent him a message on MSN as well.

I didn't see the text message myself but my wife said "My train exploded." Which prompted me to say WTF?! and immediately look on CNN.com.

    I really hope he's alright man :(

By the sounds of it though there only reporting 1 dead and 17 injured, looks like they just have to shut down a large portion of the city.

    Here's hoping for the best!

And yah, in the last 24 hours, we got like MAJOR rainfall, so I too would think that would explain the incident.

Crud dude, you need to title posts like this more descriptively. I practically had a heart attack when I saw the title.

My mom works in Manhattan, thankfully she was HOME by the time this happened... but my uncle works right near Grand Central and I haven't heard word one from him yet. (He's kinda not talking to our part of the family right now, long story.)

Mom's a nurse so if anything DID happen to him, I'm sure we'd have heard from someone in the hospitals by now... but still. :(
