Under the command of the fearless OPTIMUS PRIME®, AUTOBOT RATCHET and AUTOBOT JAZZ left their ancient home of CYBERTRON™ to wander the infinite breadth of deep space in search of the AllSpark. Hoping against hope, they searched, dreaming of the day they would return home bearing life and light. They found little of their quarry among the stars, but they carried with them always hope and healing for the sentient creatures they encountered. The search for the AllSpark has now ended, but the battle rages on. From one world to the next, they battle and defeat the DECEPTICONS®, leaving freedom in their wake.

For ages BLACKOUT and BARRICADE have raged across the galaxy alongside MEGATRON®, bringing sorrow and destruction wherever they stepped. Hundreds of worlds bear the deep scars left by their heavy feet, cities and mountains cut to pieces by the heat of their lasers. They have quested in search of the AllSpark, that legendary artifact that will, at long last, make them invincible. Though deprived of their leader MEGATRON®, their quest continues, and at its end lie the broken, rusting bodies of their eternal enemies – the AUTOBOTS®.

Damn...Unleashed is very quickly loosing its reputation for quality sculpts...I remember when they first came out with the Unleashed line with the star wars figs, everyone was like "OMG!! Toys not sclupted by Todd McFarlene and NECA can look awesome!! *sigh* those were the days...

They FINALLY got Jazz's head right, with the "ears" pointing BACK instead of FORWARD. Why they couldn't manage this on any of the figures is beyond me.

Because, as Hasbro, Michael Bay and other movie production team members have said, Hasbro worked on the toys based upon designs that weren't 'locked in' (finalized) yet.

Logically, toys take a long time to design, sculpt, test and manufacture, so they needed to have basic designs many months before the movie production team were done tweaking the CGI designs. So that's why most of the movie toys are based in appearance on concept art and have closer resemblance to the low-rest CG renders that have been widely used in marketing and licensing.

These turnarounds were obviously made after ILM reworked Jazz's head and provided Hasbro with the reference material. That last point was another problem - the production team was tardy in providing Hasbro with the reference material for the movie characters, presumably because they're self-important Hollywood assholes who think little of the toy company that actually owns the licensed material they are working upon.

These are pretty cool. Wish the paint jobs were better (more detailed).

Will probably get these on clearance.

Yes. That's what I'll be doing. I thought of getting Bumblebee Unleashed because it looked so good, but these are very disappointing in sculture and paint application.

The lack of detail is very disappointing. I have Ratchet preordered, but I'm going to cancel. Someday Hasbro has to learn that hollow unpainted plastic can't work on everything.

I'll probably pick up the Autobot one because Jazz is on it.

I really hate the packaging on these though. I bought the Prime one on clearance (for around $10) and thought that there would be more to it, concealed in the box under the dome. Nope, just a big waste of space. It's barely worth what I paid.

I'm guessing Rachet in his alt mode with Jazz's legs bouncing on the roof.

Has anyone used their skills to repaint these with more detail or is the sculpt that bad?

I MIGHT pick up the Blackout/Barricade turnaround as my first ever Unleashed purchase, just because I LOVE THEM SO MUCH.

If I ever change my mind about these, I'll still wait for clearance prices. The Turn around Prime is a shelf warmer as it is. Still haven't seen Turn-Megs yet.

I can't believe they are still planning on releasing more of these. The Prime Turnaround was a shelfwarmer, and still is. And I never even saw the Megatron one at retail.
