They shoulda learned from Energon Prime. People aren't used to seeing lips on Prime.

For a leaked TV spot, it looks pretty good. Can't wait for the real thing!

 

Cullen obviously his normal Prime voice, but they deepened it in processing. Still sounded sweet though.

 

I've already vented over at Seibertron, but I'll do it here, too. Prime's face looks terrible. It's overly animated with those nods and whatnot, and just looks artificial. The mouth is ******ed. It's just not Prime. I swear... The rest of the spot looks fine, except for a bazillion clips with Jon Voigt -- aka "One of the Least Convincing Actors Ever." Back to Prime, though... look at all the tiny plates and panels shifting around to show emotion while he talks. The same thing could have been done with more humanoid faces on the Transformers, but they went with THIS type of thing instead. For Prime, I would have prefered the RID/Beast Wars Primal face to this. The whole battle-mode thing seems cheesy to me, anyway. In fact, I'm seeing a lot of cheese coming out of these TV spots. "Are we talking 'bout -- an invasion?" ::eyeroll::

 

Starscream REALLY looked like he had a sword.


This is the best one yet, and I have loved everything we've seen so far.

You mean Cybertron Prime/Galaxy Convoy? I don't remember seeing lips on Energon Prime -- at least, not in the cartoon or the deluxe-sized toy I have. I didn't get the Leader-class version.

 

Yeah, they should have saved Prime transforming for the end with it ending on his line.

You mean the fact that my original plans were to stay an extra few days after Botcon to catch the premiere if I couldn't get the advance screening weren't enough of a giveaway?

Either way it will be GREAT. A fellow fan here in Winnipeg will be buying a ticket for me and himself. So when I get back, I get to see it again  

 

Humm......Methinks Prime needs to work in his public relations. The best way to introduce yourself to the diminutive locals is not to get in their face and jolt forward in an aggressive way spitting words into thier puny faces. I'm surprised they aren't running for their lives in fear. Plus I thought the reason most of the TFs in this movie have face plates was to avoid 'unrealistic' molten metal faces/lips. Over all Prime looks VERY unbelievable, which is ironic as I thought that was the whole reasoning for them redesigning the TFs as much as they have.

I thought this movie would have no mass-shifting? Then why does Optimus' head look like it's 5 times bigger than what would fit in the truck? Cool TV spot though. Jon Voit sounds so convincing.  

 

Well, you just hit the nail right on the head. As far as Prime's face goes, what they've given us is both unrealistic and uncool. Their reasoning has fallen apart. Personally, I love flexi-metal faces, and that brings us to my latest shameless art plug:

Also, nice call on Prime's introduction, Alex. I would take that behavior as aggressive and confrontational. Way to go Baytimus Prime.

 

the mouth of prime ruined it for me, but i think that it's just cause of the bad quality of the audio/video and how they were out of sync. but the lips still look wierd....i mean....he's metal, dammit! his face would melt if he talked for more than ten minutes because metal heats up when it is bent/moved around.
