Weird seeing prime with decepticon symbols on him...

Anyway to stop Michael Bay from seeing these pics??? Otherwise we might be getting ghetto-fabulous bling-a-licious Gold Plated Ultra Magnus in the movie....

I'm fairly certain the Lucky Draw collectors DO have bottomless pocketbooks, or are simply skilled artists who can apply gold chrome to plastic store-bought figures.

It's probably cheaper to purchase the equipment needed to vacuum-metallize plastic and do it yourself than purchase 3-5 LDs.

What are we talking here, 3,000 or 4,000 USD? I know the 100+ LD's go for around 1,200 - 1,600 USD.

Yes, 3-4K for an LD with a limited run of 1-5. And multiply that by 5 or more, you're talkin 20K+ at least to fund the habit.

don't they always just give these away instead of sell them? The last set I saw was free with with a purchase of $3000 (or was it $10k?) at some expo/convention in japan. I'm just saying, has anyone ever seen one for sale?

Do all the people who win them sell them for incredible amounts of cash to LD collectors?

Or do any of the winners actually keep them for their own collections, thereby removing it from the market?

Coz 5 is not a big number at all, and if all the winners want to keep them, LD collectors would be out of, er, luck.

Yes, you are correct, Lucky Draws are given away to the winners of the contest. However, ppl who want to obtain from said winners would have to pay $$$.

And the convention ur referring to is the Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong 2008, where Hasbro HK was giving away 10 of the 88 Gold Optimus Prime movie toys that were made, for the first 10 people to spend $3000 HKD ($387 USD) at their booth. Same situation as above, some of the ppl who were able to get one tried to resell theirs for $3-4K.

Some winners do keep thiers, especially if it's one-of-a-kind, like Green Galaxy Force Convoy, or Metallic Movie Optimus Prime, for example.

Some LD collectors who have LDs keep them for a few years and resell them. And some LD collectors who are insane and persistant, will find a way to get a rare LD. *cough*ulatrconvoy*cough* :p
