The game already looked absolutely crazy. Now it looks more so.

And I mean that in a very good way.

You know, for some reason the game doesn't look all that good to me. I loved super mario 64 and that super mario sunshine but this just looks dumb to me. They are doing to Mario what Sega did to Sonic. Thank God for paper mario.

That’s different looking. I have no idea what’s going on, but it’s different.

In a sense it's kind of the evolution of the Mario games... they were the first side scroller, then the first full-range motion game... now you have all range, jumping from mini planet to mini planet, going around a floating stage and not just across an even plane. That's what Sonic Team wanted to do after the 2D Sonic games with Xtreme but it got scrapped in favor of Adventure, which was the start of the downfall.

Sonic Team was not working on Sonic Xtreme. Sega's US division was developing that. It wasn't scrapped in favor of Sonic Adventure either. It was scrapped because the game was over budget and past deadline. That was largely because they had tried to use the NiGHTS engine without Sonic Team's permission, and Yuji Naka had threatened to quit if they didn't drop it and come up with their own engine instead.

Few are aware of it, but the majority of Sonic games are not Sonic Team games.

The "busy" part has me a bit concerned. I can see how they can screw this up, especially if the controls aren't there. Of course it is Mario, and I can't imagine that they'd screw it up, especially after Sunshine (which I still think is a hell of a game, but nevertheless earned a rather poor reputation).

The game looks great visually, but horrible gamewise. Definately looks like I will be taking a pass on this one.

It looks great. There are two things that worry me ever since I have seen it though. The first is camera angles. Being on small spheres is just a nightmare waiting to happen. The second is related to the first, control. I can see this becoming a major pain in the rear to see and move Mario. We'll have to see.

We need a new Wii game. I love Zelda, but Red Steel makes me sick from playing it. And I've played Wii sports to death. I can't wait for this.

Impressive, but I'm not a fan of moving from little planet to little planet. I wish it was all one big world that you got to run around on.

Looks cool, but I'm it's not clear to me what the action is. Just looks like Mario flying around like superman bumping into stars, planets, and...giant apples? I mean cool looking or not, it looks like total nonsense.

All of the Super Mario games have been total nonsense if you think about them for more than ten seconds. Doesn't keep them from being fun.

Looks like it'll be immense fun, and that's what makes the Mario platformers/RPGs so special. I will definately get a Wii to play this. :D

It seems like a lot of people have the same concerns as me. It looks too busy. Either it will limit the gameplay to "canned" movements, eliminating many of the potential risks, or it will be frustrating to control. My guess is the former.

I find your lack of faith (in Miyamoto) disturbing. :p
