I like the tabs they are less cluttering that opening lots of windows. and good for things like picture links...

But I find it has so odd quirks - the pervious version was bad at remembering old pages from memory but IE 8 for me fails everysingle time to load pages from the history (the old one kept at least 80s of them working until the history was overwritten).

I also don't like that the homepage button has vanished.

So is there a setting i've got set up wrong that causing it to not remember things.

Is there any features you folks find useful - and if I consider getting another browser or two what should I get - I'm sceptical about Google Chrome due to privacy issues... but i'm open to be pursaded.

    Thanks.

If you right click on any of the grey area you can customise all of the various things in the grey areas.

The Home button falls into the command bar and can be customised to suit your needs.

    Chrome works.

    Switch to Chrome.

    I'm not trying to flame.
My personal opinion is that if you need to learn the browser your energy would be better spent on one that is more reliable, uses less system resources, and is not the target of every single hacker and malware producer in the entire world.

    -Open Internet Explorer
-Type in Firefox web browser | Faster, more secure, & customizable
-Click Free Download and download it
    -Install
    -Enjoy your better browser

As said before not trying to flame. I do realize that there still is a few apps that only open and run correctly in Internet explorer but I much prefer my fox.

Get rid of IE8 if you can. That is my professional opinion. I do internet tech support. IE8 causes so many problems.

i tried using chrome on my netbook but it's just not the same as firefox. firefox will do anything you want it to. if you don't like something about it, there is a way to change it. extensions are incredibly useful. chrome has extensions, but they suck compared to the ones in firefox. the chrome version of adblock drives me nuts for example. also, i find the default layout to be better than ie8 or chrome anyway. it's just more intuitive, like a browser is supposed to look. the only issue i have with firefox is that it's a bit slow to open the program, while chrome and ie both open instantly, but other than that, it's better in every way.

Had issues with IE8 (too slow), and Chrome is kinda "bleh" (sucks it doesn't have a app that blocks annoying banner ads) IMO.

Not trying to flame but as most people said, stick wih Firefox.

forget IE8 and stick with Firefox. IE is slow and cumbersome. Firefox is light, fast and offers some great features (i.e. add-on's)

    EDIT: 100th post! yay!

The best advice I can give to IE8 users is to: first, stay on top of updates, and second: run as few add-ons/toolbars as possible, as they really slow down browsing.
