Thanks. i guess if the extra charge is the same price as joining the club, then it's a no-brainer. I appreciate the info guys
I wish there was a better answer than that. I really don't want to miss this. And I have a bad feeling I'll be at work when this goes up.
I'd seriously go gaga if Ramjet's packaging is like this, garish card and all! Chances are it will be a box with foam insert.
Anybody else notice the tweet from a few days ago that said the nosecone is rubber? Seems like a weird thing to change on the toy, especially if it meant new tooling ( which the tweet confirmed ). I mean, it'll drive up the cost for a change that is barely noticeable for a display figure and that may dry and crack in the future.
I'd imagine it's less TFCC's doing and more that of Hasbro and/or Takara, in relation to compliance with tightening safety standards. The note about it was probably made as G2 Ramjet would be among the first to appear with the updated nosecone tooling, and the club didn't want anyone surprised by it.
It is weird. Very. It was also apparently not at FP's request, but was done by the factory. (EDIT: I really should start reading the rest of threads before posting) Which brings me to the question, why should the factory make such a change now rather than for Dirge and Thrust? It's almost as if they're imposing stronger safety standards on our "adult collectibles" than they do on the retail toys that really are intended for children.
Regulations are always tightening it seems, that or Thrust and Dirge slipped through by mistake somehow. It is still very odd timing if this is the last of the cone head releases.
I'm not sure why people are saying the change to the rubber nose is because of safety. Did I miss that somewhere? I don't exactly see how that would make it safter anyhow.
