Vince posted a message Don Murphy's Web Site about a new piece of TF-related music he recently completed with his partner Kenny Meriedeth.

He sent me a copy of the post as well!

So what are you waiting for? Check it out! This song is great. It's also downloadable! Just click on mp3 at the song page. Sign up for free account and download. Thanks Vince for sharing it with us. We truly appreciate you appreciating us.

    Hello to all,

I am presenting this piece of music as a special "Thank You" to all my friends from the Transformers community...

http://www.soundclick.com/bands/pagemusic.cfm?bandID=610622 Click this link to listen and get to the song! It is called Transformers Suite 2006.

Some of you may recall hearing this arrangement when I performed it at the last convention I attended years ago. My partner Kenny Meriedeth and I began re-working my original arrangement about a year ago and we continued to work on it even after learning that a composer had been chosen to score the new live action film. As you will hear, this piece features some 'snippets' from my score to the 1986 animated movie, along with the original Transformers theme presented in an updated fashion.

I hope you enjoy this music and we wish everyone the best on the new movie.

Thanks again to all my fans!

    Cordially,
    Vince DiCola

Nice piece, they should hire him to do the music on the upcoming cartoon, the style would fit with the (rumored) storyline.

I like where he's going with the themes of the music, but a lot of the staccato stuff is just focused on too long. The orchestral hits at the beginning of the song go on just a bit too long, in my opnion.

The main TF theme is nice and honest to the original theme, buuut...the original theme needs to be reinvented orchestrally to sound more fitting for a Hollywood action film, methinks.

I'll acknowledge that DiCola really seems to have taken his hints from Hanz Zimmer appropriately, but...I dunno, there's still too much DiCola "80s! Awesome!" in the sound of the music for me to discern it as truly representative of the Transformers film that's coming up.

The track is neat and it does hit on some of the truest themes of the G1inverse - the original TF theme, the TF unicron & Decepticon themes - but (and I know that those who have been reading my posts might be shocked by this) I don't think that those themes are what we need for the new film. I think we need a different direction for the main musical themes of the new film; one that has SOME of the signature pieces of the original Transformers theme in it, but has the leniency to paint a musical picture of the Decepticons and the Autobots without relying on what's been written before.

I actually really like this piece. A lot, actually. Much better than anything he did on TF:TM. How ironic that all it is, is an updated compilation of those themes.

    I give it 8 out of 10.

^^^I'm sorry if I misunderstood your post, but it seems like you're worried this is from the actual movie?

Vince Di Cola isn't attached to the movie in any form (that I know of). I think this is just something he did in his spare time.

Steve Jablonski is the composer for the movie. He'll probably go with his own stuff.

Yeah, I recognize that. However, I'm assuming that this was, in some way, DiCola's way of saying, "Hey, over here! I did some stuff, too, check me out. Consider me for the film, please."

Nice. But now I'm torn between this and the orchestral piece from the PS2 game for my favorite rendition of the G1 theme.

I want to download it, but I'm not in the mood to sign up with that site to do so.

I like it. It has a kinda 007 feel to the last half of it.

Very nice. That would make a great opening theme for the movie.

I still quite like the orchestrated G1 theme composed by Rick Formosa for the PS2 Armada game

After listening to it again, I definately prefer the proper classical theme from the Armada game, even if it was a synthesised orchestra.

This one here is too 80s Casio keyboard for my taste
