Diggin' very much the more traditional white ambulance scheme for Ratchet...as for Screamer...don't really care much at this moment.
At the rate these are coming, that's very likely. Still, I just can't see the Voyager IRONHIDE mould working in red for some reason.
Hmm.. Maybe I should wait on buying Starscream then. The G1 colors look pretty nice, but I'd like to see them in robot mode.
I personnally prefer the white Ratchet to the green one, i'm just not a big fan of the green. So that is definately one repaint I will be getting, but I'm sure I'll be passing on the SS repaint. I already plan to get the movie deco one and Thundercracker, seeing as I won't really be using as Starscream or Thundercracker and they're both different enough from everything else to be new characters. But I don't really like paint on this SS and don't feel the need to get this mold a third time, it's an easy pass. Now bring on the red Ironhide and White stripped Jazz! Edit: Though I do <3 the Decepticon Air Force logo on SS, all Decepticon seekers should have that emblem from now on.
The colors on Ratchet seem like what they should have worked better in the movie rather than the baby puked on me green. The bad thing with these G1 inspired colors though is instead of making me excited to buy these figures it only makes me mad that Hasbro didn't give us something like a Classics style sculpt of Ratchet and the other characters that didn't make the cut. Unless there was some radical dedesigning on the bot mode I just don't think the figure will have enough appeal to make my buy list. Starscream, oy don't like his movie toy, don't like the slightly improved Thundercracker they did with the figure so this one is on the wouldn't buy it on a dare list. Will be interesting if they put a different head on Ratchet though because that means the odds of a red Ironhide with a better looking head just got much much better. About the only repaint in this line that I might consider since he's been the only Autobot movie toy that hasn't made me say blah right off the bat.
G1 heads would fill these with instant sweetened win. But they'll have the same heads as the movie decos.
They just look underage because they're cartoons. Well... some of them are obviously supposed to be underage. WELL THEN. I have a friend that runs a popular anime toy store, and he says that for a lot of this stuff... you really have to be a huge perv to get your hands on it in Japan. There's a lot of it, but its an underground market. He says that even if a store had top of the line, rare, vintage, desirable TF or Anime merchandise, most people avoid those stores if they also have... naked pregnant anime children. Man... sexually repressed patriarchal societies... what are you gonna do.
Hmmm...you do raise a good point. Maybe he'll be a TRU exclusive with a red Ironhide, or a funky single release to a store. I'd buy it either way
NICE. Ratchet looks SO much better then in his god-awful movie colors. There's really no reason he couldn't have been white/red in the film even with the new design. If I get a Ratchet it will absolutely be this one. Here's hoping he gets a new head too, but I doubt it. Still not feeling Starscream. The deco looks badly laid out and the colors really don't work on this design. I'm surprised to admit it but if I had to pick one, I'd go with his movie color over this.
I planned on only buying a handful of movie toys. Ratchet, Ironhide, Blackout, and some version of Prime.. I'm DEFINITELY holding out for this Ratchet. Logic would dictate we'd see a red Ironhide, too. Yes.... Naked. Pregnant. Underaged. Lactating. Anime Girls... lol! Sorry, they border on ridiculous. Chris
I'm digging the white Ratchet and Starscream, however I liked the original deco as well. I'll be debating which to buy. We know they won't be doing a Bumblebee G1 repaint, so that leaves Prime, Ironhide and Jazz but since most of the Decepticons are new characters I don't see them doing any G1 homages. One question about the naked anime girls, what are they're alt modes?
I dunno. I just see the green as more visually interesting when on screen while white would have been a little bland, blending into the background a little too much.
