*takes a drink out of a large bottle of piss-take (that's a term for joking)*

Maybe Hasbro got fed up with people complaining about humans in cartoons all the time, and instead introduce our robots in disguise to... other robots.

Maybe there is something new in the works.

However the 'I robot' bit i find hard to accept, it detracts from the way in which they want to portray TFs as something 'unique'

Doesn't sound very likely to me..
However, it would be relatively interesting to see Transformers react to our apparent enslavement of domestic robots.
I'd like a bit of doubt in the mind of the Autobots as to whether humans are worth saving all the time.
The Decepticon's motivation could probably gain a little more legitimacy also.

Well, we'll see when we get to next year, but I'll be happy as long as the anime stereotypes and annoying children are nowhere to be seen. Now, good anime trends and usefull children (along with usefull humans in general) are exceptable. Could be true, but I do highly doubt these kinds of he said that she said that your momma said... yeah... they don't really work do they? But I wouldn't completely throw it out as bullshit either.

Defiantely Interesting ideas. Unfortunately, they would probably stick to the tried and tested* simplistic characterisation/violence solves everything 'story' model.

*as in cheapest way of creating an effective 23 minute long toy commerical.

As long as Transformers has a cartoon show and a toyline to push, Hasbro's set.

I actually meant dispensing of humans entirely and introducing TFs as aliens onto an all-robot planet.

But your way is fun, too.

Sounds interesting. It could be good, but it will probabaly suck like all the other recent shows.

Do you think maybe there might be some marketing genius in Hasbro who is thinking
"You know what? if we are getting somebody to make a cartoon that plugs our toys, how about we make sure it doesn't suck ass? That way, the networks won't put it on at 3am on some obscure digital channel where the kids we want to buy the toys that are never going to see it?"
    Me neither.

Sounds like a potentially cool twist on the series... The discussion of a rumour is usually taken out of context, though, so who knows how the exact details are going to line up come time for the cartoon to launch? I do suppose that the outcome of the toon will depend on if Hasbro links up with American Production and writing, as some other posters have mentioned.

I wonder if it's going to be CGI or Animated?

Either way, i hope it's awesome and comes on TV at a Decent hour.

If this is a new mainline series (takes grain of salt), there are some interesting possibilities for the toy line. A 'futuristic' line could be an interesting contrast to the Earth focus that we'll have with Classics and the Movie line. I'd prefer it if it was an alien planet instead of a futuristic Earth, but I don't think we're getting away from Earth anytime soon. Worst case, hopefully they could make decent 'Cybertronian' Transformers in case the show isn't very good.
