Yeah I really hate the whole "masked wrestler/new Catwoman" style of head sculpt on any Transformer. Like what was that one exclusive Classics Jetfire repaint? Dreadwing?
Yeah, so far the early movie toys / scout line draws a pretty thick line in the sand dividing the BW era fans with the G1/Classics nuts (and completely omitting any TFA influence, which is good for the movie BTW). I was never into BW myself and find the ROTF toys to be unimpressive. They do look like they have great poseability, cool transformations, etc. but I'm just not feeling that "style." It's a bit too organic to satisfy my robot thirst. I assume most of the main characters will be more styled after G1/Classics, so these extra toys are good news for BW fans I think. I can also see TFA fans passing over this line completely unless something brand new and fresh pops its head...
what's really confusing about it too me is that it removes them aesthetically from being connected to basically any line except maybe pre-beast wars. They're gonna look weird by movie guys, weird by classics, weird by Animated... ...and aside from that, they look like really clever little molds...
don't want to make any assumptions about the innards, but here it is with the alt mode colours applied at least - I have to say though, the face looks pretty evil, wouldn't have picked it for an autobot. more like an evil rock-lord

Easier to steal. Not saying any of our informants stole them but I'm guessing someone did. I personally don't care how we get to see them. Maybe Hasbro will take note and start showing stuff off earlier. On topic though, this guy looks pretty cool. I'm hoping their overall goal with the 3 movies planned is that the longer the Transformers stay on Earth the more human they start to look so by movie 3 they look more like humans (kinda of more G1/Classics) style and bot modes are a bit more solid. I mean they can't keep pumping out the same Bumblebee for 3 movies, can they?
I wonder if all these scout figures are Soundwave's minions and he is one of the key protagonists in the movie. It'd make sense that if he gets a lot of screen time they would create a cast to fill in where the cassette characters did originally. I can't really figure any other reason for why there would be several scout class figures to start off. They were Target exclusive repaints the last time around.
Now that I think about it, the bike-mode does look a bit like the three Arcee bikes. Though I don't recall any of them being green, but then again I only remember getting a good enough look at two of them to see what color they were besides the black on them (one was pink, and the other was blue). I personally think it's just another scout class figure that doesn't have an on-screen counterpart. Either way it's clearly an Autobot, making the Autobot to Decepticon ratio within the scout class figures even atm (Autobots: Bike-bot and Truck-bot, Decepticons: Car-bot and Forklift-bot).
