Oh, you're quite right. Hes much more like Scrounge and other Budiansky characters. At least he got a nifty drawing though

You buy a membership in those non-member prices. So it really doesn't pay anything to buy a membership ahead of time just to purchase the exclusives. Especially if you don't know what year the exclusive you want is coming out.
Seems like the typical "Universe Style" of the time, so not too surprising. After getting a good look at them here, They look pretty reasonable to me (enough to buy, anyway). If I had my choice, I'd replace the uses of orange with something else, like silver or blue, but pretty nice otherwise.
True. A lot of people didn't like the G1 theme either (I'm assuming you refer to the proposed Energon Seacon colors). Can't please everyone, I guess.
i'm really looking forward to the seacons, but does anyone know if they are going to stick to the universe colors? or are they going to do something like the japanese king poseidon?
The G1 Seacons come from a time when most Decepticon toys were rejected outright if they did not use at least one (preferably two or more) of the following colors: Aqua Purple Magenta At least on the Seacons some of those colors make sense, in their own way.
Tropical fish are wild pastel colors though. I certainly prefer the God Neptune scheme, but I'd be happiest with a G1 deco. For those in the know: Is there any difference between the US Seacons and King Posiedon from Masterforce?
From looking through my Japanese TF:Generations book, there doesn't seem to be a difference, unless the blue is a slightly different tint, but that can occur from different plastic batches.
