The Seacons will be the combiner that gets me to sign up for the club. Not the Frankencombiner they're currently giving away.

Cool. Good news about the Seacons. I might sign up. How much do you guys think that they will be going for?

Thanks for the info (and you as well Squirrelcar) - maybe I will check it out. If it's for the Seacons.

And a shout back "I-O"...only a few more months until OSU Football starts - luckily I'll be home for this year's games. We're leaving Kuwait in September after a year of being in this hellhole. Thanks for the support.

Probably the bargain price of $250 or so.

Eh, now that I've thought about it, I probably won't get them in the end, lol. I'd rather shell out for a Botcon set.

You can buy the Seacons without being a member for a slightly higher price, right? Isn't that how it usually works?

I want the Seacons, but I have no need for membership.

You can, but the additional premium is less than or equal to the cost of the membership. And with the membership you get a free toy.

That's what I'm thinking now but unfortunately it's usually a considerable jack-up in price. Just look at what they have now, the Astrotrain Classic is $40 more for non-members...that's a lot for just one item. Imagine what it will be like for a set? Of course then you have to ask yourself if paying the membership price is worth it.

I think I'll just wait to see what these look like first. Then decide.

Basically, you can buy them from the club store for the normal exclusive price + $40 for membership. Which basically means you join the club AND get the exclusive at the same time.

And there isn't a font big enough on this board for the "YAY!" I have in response to the Seacon news.

When it comes to ANY club exclusive a non-member is going to pay $40 more, and get a membership with it.

This set is equal to a Botcon box set. 5-6 figures depending. If it's under $250, I'd be surprised.

You're forgetting that all figures are basic-sized, unlike Botcon box sets, and that the individual cost of a boxed convention set has never really been said-- all we have to go by are the full Primus packages WITH the convention set, and then the cheaper loose sets. I'm betting $150-ish, maybe as low as $125.

Still a sickening price when you realize these were meant for retail, but it's better than not getting them at all.

Then again for that price, I'd look into getting a God Neptune instead. He has an awesome color scheme.

Who's to say that they're not just releasing them throught the club store. We know the set at least got to the proto stage with Walmart as the prospective vendor so I'm gonna guess they were planned for way more than the '07 Botcon set. And since the demand seems to be way higher, I'm betting on a quantity in the 5-10K range and a price around $50-$75.

I would definetly go for it if it was around that price. Though for some reason, I doubt that it'll be under $125.

True. Forgot appendages were a basic class. Thinking they were deluxe...Still, 2005 box set had 7, IIRC(5b +1d +1v). The other store exclusives(not Botcon) had a run of 2000 each. No way could they even produce half that and expect club members to pay, and them to sell out. This limited run will increase price.

After thinking about it more. I'm going with $225(for 6). It's either going to be a very limited and pricey club store exclusive or, and this makes more sense, Botcon 2008 exclusives to go along with it being in Florida.

As previewed at a previous Botcon (04 or 05) all six figures were shown. When I met up with the lady who was the supposed head of Transformers at Hasbro, and asked her about them finding the sixth mold for Nautilator. She said that they must have uncovered it, but didn't know the details. So this should be a full recolor of Piranacon. As for color scheme: http://tformers.com/article.php?sid=3503
