    Hi Guys,

FInally back with a new update for IaconCity! This wasn't really planned....but I was approched by Adam Alexander, who is prob more known to Tfans as Botch the Crab, owner of THE definitive Transformers box art archive on the net. He asked if I was interested in doing a custom render of his personal character Botch the Crab. Well I saw this as an opportunity to "give back" since I had used his archive countless of times for reference materials for my models.

Anyway, He gave me some background on his character as well as his cohorts, Bungle and Fuck-Up. Naturally, me being the completist that I am, I just HAD to make these guys too. According to Adam, Fuck-Up was just a yellow recolor of Laserbeak...no prob. But Bunglem bungle happened to be a recolor of the ape-cassette Beastbox. Sooooooo...I decided to make myself a Beastbox...since I got him done, I figured...what the hell...Squawktalk soon followed...and well, with both of them done, it was only a matter of time that Squawkbox would make his debut on IaconCity. So here they are

Nice work - I like the crab joints and the insignia on the claws.

Oh wow, I thought you were dead! Long time, no post. Good to see that you're still modeling. As always you're accuracy to DON's stylization of the characters continues to impress.

I know it's been brought up before, but...... with all the models you have would you consider creating your own animated series, much like what Draven is doing? I know lots of people would love to see that.

Yes, a world of thanks to Chris for taking the time to render Botch for me! You can't imagine how giddy I was when I saw his first renders.

I've updated my site with his art, and also published the techspec/profiles for Botch and his two companions. You can read it here:

I've always wanted to animate one of your models, they look like so much fun to make run around

Mind if I interject?  :)  I believe that the models themselves could be exported as an obj which Maya reads (I believe all major 3d packages have the obj export).

Now, the only real problem I forsee is the rigging for each each character. That might have to be done in the software package that it's going to be animated in (I could be wrong of course, I'll have to test that out and see what happens).

Also, I know that before, elgoodo, you said that you would like to do an animated series, but don't have the necessary hardware for the rendering and the like. I'm not sure what specs you have, but my machine has 2GB of RAM, a GeForce 8800 GTS 640MB graphics card (which can outperform some SLI configurations of comparable abilities), and a 2.13 GHz Core 2 Duo Dual Processor, and I, like RHansen, have Maya (I've 8.5, not sure what he has).

If interested, maybe we could to a collab or something. I'd kill for new G1 stuff! :thumb

I have 8.5 as well Star Cracker, as for system specs I've got a 2.0 ghz core 2 dual, 4 gb ram, and my graphics card is something that escapes me right now, its not amazing but its not bad in any way, I can definately help out in a collab!

I'm mostly into animating, but I can model texture and to a lesser extent rig.

I was aware of the .obj format but yea I was referring to rigs, a man can dream cant he :D
