Flash Fact: No Street Fighter film will ever be amazing.

That being said, I can't wait to watch that.

Until a Street Fighter movie gets Mike Tyson to play Balrog, no Street Fighter movie will be good enough or accurate enough for me. :p

I'm looking forward to this way more than that lame Chun Li movie.

I just hope that because he's American, Ken dosnt out shine Ryu in the movie. I hate it when they do that in Hollywood movies.

One thing about the Chun Li movie and also the DBZ movie I hated is the way they portray Chi (and Ki... same thing really) energy on screen. Why does it look like gas or whatever???

I've seen youtube videos with better effects. If the Hadouken looks like a fart cloud i'm gonna be pissed.

Hmm... I think I'll watch this. It always sort of bothered me that Ryu and Ken, the two most iconic fighters from the game, always get shoved in the background in the live action movies. This looks promising.

Agreed with Nachtsider. I'll keep an open mind about this one.

I'd rather see a 15-minute balls-to-the-wall-uncompromising-true-to-the-arcade short film than the full-length-feature-Hollywood-crap we've gotten thus far.

Ahem, Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie is still today one of my favourite pieces of Street Fighter fiction.

From Dee-Jay being "one bad-ass mother fucker", to Guile unleashing the coolest Sonic Boom ever to Chun-li and Vega ripping it the fuck up. Also the American dub is great as its soundtrack. Even the action is top-notch. How people don't like it i'll never know.

Word. I love the SFII animated film. It really is the best SF portrayal outside of the games. The Chun-Li/Vega fight alone is still better then most film fights. Honestly I don't think a live action SF could ever do the games justice. It just works better as anime (and I want a new one soon).

As for this, hey it's a short film made by guys who clearly have a passion for SF. I'm looking forward to seeing it but will keep my hopes in check until then.

I agree about the animated movie- I think a lot of people just cross it off because, well, it's a mid 90's anime about a fighting game. It covers a lot of bases, and while it does focus more on certain characters, that's just the price of balancing a movie to have a story and still feature a large cast. The story does a decent job of stringing together the fights while keeping some of the characters story from the game intact, which is mainly all it should have done.

And for the topic of the thread, I think it looks good but just showing the little it did we really have nothing to go on what the final product will be. But I will say the most martial artists are pretty lean, and to look even remotely like they do in the game, they would all have to be played by body builders who probably couldn't actually lift their legs to kick.

I was just thinking that, for some bizarre reason, the shower scene was the most memorable aspect for me.

Probably because I was about 15 when it was released.
