Tintin Movie » A whole gallery of brand new Tintin images!

Looks like the Uncanny Valley has been defeated! maybe Zemeckis can learn from his mistakes once he sees this movie and those images.

I've been a TinTin fan since i watched the HBO cartoon 20 years ago when i was 10, this should be an outstanding movie.

While I never really gave TinTin much thought before this, the fact that this is written by Steven Moffat has me greatly interested. I hope I can find a French copy too, when it comes to home video, to improve my French.

Could this be another adventure masterpiece like Indiana Jones?

:lol  It had the complete opposite effect on me, but, the fact that it's directed by Spielberg, boasts a fantastic cast, and also it looks bloody amazing has kept my interest. Those pictures look absolutely gorgeous, particulary Captain Haddock and Snowy in the desert

In the strictest sense, the term Uncanny Valley refers to the gap robotics and animation need to cover in order to be indistinguishable from actual humans.

Tin Tin looks amazing, but it's stylized and not trying to cross the Uncanny Valley -nor should it try.

i don't get it, why spend a bunch of money on making them look super realistic, making them look like real humans, and then you go and do things like stretch their noses out, and make them cartoonishly big?

and another related questions is, if you are going to go through the trouble of making them look like real people, WHY NOT JUST USE REAL PEOPLE?! :lol

What makes Avatar, Lord of the Rings and Rise of the Apes different in mocap? did they bridge the uncanny valley?

They aren't replicating real life human beings, they are replicating cartoon characters.
