It's times like these that I wish English had different words for different types of love, like Greek does.

They wouldn’t get sued for using a car in a movie; the issue is always licensing for merchandise. MP Bumblebee getting a licensed figure in both Japan and in the West is a good indication that this should no longer be a problem. :)  (dreadbot not having the VW badge is probably more to do with him being a villain)

Not gonna lie, that wouldn't break my heart in the slightest.

In fact, considering its replay of the whole "teen and their car" bit from the first movie, I wouldn't be shocked if - should this thing have any meaningful success - that may end up being the plan. It would certainly be half-^$$ed enough an idea that I can see Paramount embracing it.

The only thing at this point that I have mixed feelings on is going the "E.T." route full-bore, as Knight's comments suggest. It's not necessarily where I would have liked to have gone, but then considering the last five movies' worth of increasing obnoxiousness, and all the gag-reflexes and holding back of vomit that the very mention of "E.T." might elicit from geekdom, it might be worth it just for the sheer amusement.

The last two movies are unwatchable to me.  That said, when I worked a few days on Bumblebee, as a long-time Transformers fan and dealer, standing next to the row of movie cars was epic.

Who knows how this will turn out.  Could go either way.

Interesting. Movie franchises (Transformers, Marvel, Star Wars, DC, etc.) have really stretched out their lengths these days. The question rises: when will it all end? They can\'t just make movie series forever.

Should be a cool movie to keep me distracted until TF6.

That's what adjectives are for. Paternal, maternal, familial, platonic, etc. Notice they say love story, but not romance story. And love story does describe two friends mending each other's broken spirits through bonding and caring for each other's well-being.

But you're right more direct wording would probably help people clear up that misconception.
But then again, an autobot and human romantic entanglement isn't new to the franchise either. Powerglide can attest to that. And Seaspray did find himself a mermaid.

Interesting direction the movie is going! Although others may feel that this \"love\" story is going to be a cliche, I get the feeling that Mr. Knight is gonna make this quite the unexpected then from what we\'re used to already in the Transformers Movie Universe. Only time will tell however. I have high hopes nonetheless, especially since it\'s all being directed from Mr. Knight.

As long as its not romantic love (I hate when people equate love and romance anyway, because they're not the same thing), I am good.

I just hope it's not the 2007 film 2.0. Not that I think it will be, but I want something new.

And I've said this before in other threads, but if I had one specific request it would be that one of the Decepticons be Deadlock before he became Drift. The chances of that happening may be slim, and I'll be fine if it wasn't the case, but it could be pretty awesome if it did happen.

That would be hysterical if they didn't.

It also wouldn't be the first or even second time the geniuses failed to work this all through.

    Dino.

    Sideways.

Are there more? I want to think there may have been.

Evoking the classic Spielberg movies, I hope that's true. I love those "Human befriends non-human" movies from those days. And hearing that he's bringing his Laika techniques also raises hopes in me. Bring on the Bee!

If I've learned anything since Revenge of the Fallen, it's that these directors overhype their movies and promise a big emotional film when it's really another bland pile of nothing.

That being said, FUCK. Everything I've heard about the Bumblebee movie so far sounds like they made this movie specifically for me and my weird fucking tastes in Transformers. If they tell me the transformers have gore next I'm all over it.

Re-fucking-tweet. It really looks like there's care being put into this; the December release date also gives me hope.
