Watch both. OMG, I haven't been this giddy for a movie since I saw the first two Transformers trailers.

I love the camp, all of the cartoony lighting and smoke effects, the orchestrated theme, and the LIBERAL use of auto jacks! Cars flying everywhere. In the second trailer, one has two ball-and-chains hanging off it.

Ugh. God I hate that cartoon. I see the trailers for this and get flashbacks of the time I was dragged to "Shark Boy and Lava Girl".

It appears to be cool, but I don't see myself liking it at all.

It reminds me to much of the early CD-ROM games with the live action composted into the CGI. I’m becoming turned off by the hyper real style and worry that this movie is just going to be an assault on the eyes and ears.

I think it looks amazing. It's faithful to the original in nearly every way, and they're pulling off the whole "Live Action Cartoon" thing almost flawlessly. If they can turn Speed Racer into something that keeps me going "woah", or "damn", then I'll be satisfied, and so far they look dead on.

I seriously thought this was a joke until I saw John Goodman. Not like I mean that in a bad way, but it's just so weird that they would redo Speed Racer of all things. Still, I likes me some fast car racing movies.

Looks meh, I'll rent it at the absolute most. Pending it doesn't turn out to be too kiddy, which it doesn't look to be. The second trailer had some corny dialog, but that's probably just because of the wrong music going over the wrong clip. (Like playing epic music during a fart joke)

Still, I'm not as hyped for it as I am for say... IRONMAN.

I think it's supposed to be... magic? Maybe he got stuck in a tornado on acid.

Whatever it is, I thought that particular part was cool.

One thing I didn't like was some of the dialog. So worn out and cliche.

I actually really like how cartoony it looks. When I first heard there was gonna be a speed racer movie, I dreaded some ultra-realistic rendition. It worked for TF, but not Speed.

Note it's based of a 1960's anime and is deliberately cheesy.

I hope it wasn't some sort of anime speeding-lines-out-of-world stock-footage-esque sequence. I would have to watch it peeking through my fingers.

So, you can handle cheesy 1960's anime dialog, but not cheesy 1960's anime streaking background?:)

Cheesy dialog is still cheesy dialog deliberate or not. I've nev er though of anything besides cheese or cheese-flavoured that's cheesy a good thing, and even cheese is pushing it.

I like the speed lines if they're realisticaly possible. Like when he's racing on the track and there's a lit stadium behind him, the streaking background lights make sense. However, if he's in a natural, realitivly lightless area and all of a sudden streaking bright, colourful lines appear behind him while he's standing still, my little WTF flag makes a guest appearence.

The cheesy dialog in this movie is exactly like the cheesy lines in Spiderman ("Here's your change!" etc), or the fight scenes in Kill Bill. The rhyming British badguy from the first trailer is another good example: "You won't win, you won't place, you won't even finish the race!"

I mean the main character's name is "Speed" afterall :p
