Because this literally deserves it's own thread.
Never really did like the Smash Bros. games. Then again, I really tire of, and dislike, fighting games in general. Still though, I'll check out the trailer. The wii-mote may well win me over to fighting games.
I need me some more Mario Galaxy info....oohhh baby.
So wait, you made a thread for a trailer that is coming on Friday (3 days away)
Why not just wait till Friday.
Because someone else would
No, it's totally because this game needs to announced before hand, it's going to be that good.
The first trailer was amazing. Friday will be even better now.
Hmm... Something to look forwards to on Friday eh ?
I too would like some more info on Mario Galaxy..
I hope we get another surprise character in the game out of this trailer, Snake in the first one was the most unreal thing I ever saw, I thought for sure this was some practical joke.
But if this one is up for 3rd party characters... I wish we would get Sonic
This new trailer that's gonna happen on Friday...is this information true? If so, do you have PROOF?
"Under the direction of series creator Masahiro Sakurai, Super Smash Bros. Brawl will feature classic, GameCube-style combat -- not Wii-style motion-controlled combat. That means players who prefer to play the game with the traditional control setup can look forward to using the GameCube control-style they're already accustomed to.
"We found that trying to implement too much motion-sensory functionality can get in the way of the game. We're looking at keeping the control simple, as it has been," said Sakurai. "The Wii hardware has sockets for the GameCube controller, too. So I'll just say now that you may not want to throw away your GCN controller yet."

So no luck being won over I guess, sorry. I each their own, I love fighting games (well the good ones, but I'm no fan of sports games of FPS) so I'm actually happy they are keeping the game play first and the wii-mote second in this case.
Can't wait til Friday to see the new footage, pants are ready to be wet!
(also sign me up for new Mario Galaxy news soon)
You can see Nintendo World 2006 in there. It's been translated by other sites.
Is that confirmed or speculation?
Well, that's what the majority of alot of blogs have been saying, but it seems now that the translation may have been botched and it says "all new footage of characters on screen for first time"
Around launch would of still been a hell of a time to announce Sonic though.
It would be nice to see Sonic, I would be surprised if he wasn't in the final game. It is possible that we could see more than one new character but I'm not getting too hopeful. Nintendo has a lot of characters to draw from for Smash Bros. but more third party characters would be cool. I believe it has been said that there are at least two or three more third party characters that we haven't seen that have appeared on other Nintendo systems, so no luck for those who want to see Master Chief even if Microsoft has seemed to warm up to the big N for help against PS3.
I say at this point there is a 50/50 chance Sonic could be in the trailer but does anyone care to guess what other characters we will see in the trailer or final game build? I for one would love to see Fierce Deity Link. I loved the look of that Link transformation. As for third party maybe Simon from Castlevania.
I would KILL for Oni-Link! Even if it was just a different skin choice for Twilight Princess Link, I think it would be awesome... and I hope if Ganon is back in this version, they give him his sword and not just a Captain Falcon clone.
I'm really happy with the line up so far though... Pit I already love, Meta-Knight looks sweet (my friend loves the fact that he'll have a sword Kirby without the need to suck up Link first), the fact that Armor-less Samus is an in-game transformation is pretty cool too. What I'm really hoping for is more unique characters and less clones.
sounds bad I really want to see a new trailer for SSBB.
As for new characters for SSBB, Its going to be tough to top the surprise that was Snake. Hopefully they can still top that!
So. Sonic? Megaman? Simon Belmont? I'm taking all bets. I also offer video poker!
i was thinking of doing a poll thread about "If there is a new character, who do you think it'll be" but seems like you cant do polls anymore.
the names would be:
Some other Nintendo character
Some other Non-Nintendo character
I've always thought Ridley needs to be in this game.
Separate names with a comma.
