Think about it, that tail swipe + explosion could have wrecked his voice box

Given us that raspy voice we all love

How the accent would get in there i have no idea though

I doubt if bumblebee can't get his voice box replaced/repaired I really doubt shockwave can.

 

I really loved Steve Blum's take on Shockwave. I am coming to see that not every original voice actor for character will work in every version. For example, Frank Welker's voice does not work for Movie Megatron at all and I am also thinking that Corey Burton's voice wouldn't have worked with DOTM Shockwave. Now I'm not saying that Frank Welker and Corey Burton are bad voice actors at all, far from it actually. My point is that their specific voices for a character may not work in every continuity. I think Steve Blum really nailed Shockwave for FOC. But you're free to disagree with me.

After listening to Starscream (and hundreds of other generic baddies) whine all day in Prime (or other sources of media) it gets pretty old. I love blum, but damn.

He is even voicing the baddies in Last of Us ;_;

 

I still find it interesting that Corey Burton voiced Shockwave for that tiny little ad for the Shockwave Pre-Order bonus on War for Cybertron but when it comes to the actual game where he'll say more that one sentence?

Eh. Blum's Shockwave is fine, but it just lacked the apathy I like in Burton's Shockwave.

 

If they aren't going to hire Corey Burton and have him do and are going to go in a different direction with the voice, I wish they'd get Troy Baker to do it. His generic Decepticon, which sounds cold and callous, sounds miles better than Steve Blum's take.

 

I could listen to Blum's sexy/smexy voice all day, but he's just not working for me as Shockwave. Corey Burton is always my first pick for Shockwave, and here, Burton would've fit just fine, I think, as FOC Shockwave.

 

Considering how much of a G1 lovefest WFC and FOC are, I'm surprised by the amount of people here who support Blum as Shockwave.

I really love Blum, but parts of his voice carry over to all of his characters, and the Burton voice is such a perfect match for the character's personality. I'm all for anything that brings Burton back as Shockwave.

Probably because I don't watch enough shows to think Steve Blum is everywhere. All I know him as is Heatblast, Vilgax, Starscream and Shockwave.

 

I loved Steve Blum as Shockwave. However the fact that he sounds just like TFP Starscream still bugs me. However I could not see FOC SW suddenly sounding like G1 SW. Their voices are just too different. I'd like a new actor who can do a Shockwave I can believe used to be FOC Shockwave.

i would have liked to see tom hardy do shockwave, if it were similar to bane but easier to understand   i reckon it would be incredible

 

If HMS wanted something different, but somewhat similar to Shockwave, I think they should have gone with the voice heard in the Youtube video below (1:07) on--it's Sparking again. Let's get that thing fixed. Memory Cores are fried. Need to find some new ones--as it would have made a much better shockwave, IMHO. Troy Baker was knocking all of his voices out of the park in this game!
