    That is because Takara, unlike Hasbro, doesn't mess with a perfectly good formula, so they re-release ROTF Prime with new weapons and paintjobs instead of Butterfly Prime and Phony-Windshield Prime.
    ON TOPIC: if it's cheaper than Primars was, I MIGHT get it. Maybe

    Both those toys you mention were made by Takara engineers, with "butterfly prime" designed by the guy who's responsible for VICTORY SABER, and both are released in Japan as well.

    So much for that.

    Sweet, I'm a sucker for SD mecha.

    If the price isn't treading too deeply into wallet-rape territory, I'm so getting this!

    Here's hoping for a third party SD Megatron after this is out.

    it looks good for an unofficial, but aesthetically stylized Optimus Prime SD toy.
    color pics might paint the figure to be nicer. interest piqued. :D

    The bot mode looks great, but the truck's a contrast to the bot mode, maybe because its SD, weaker alt-modes like this are more common. Hopefully this isn't a pricey set.

    Nice! Too bad it'll be priced much too high for me to get for my 4 year old *sigh* He loves G1 Optimus, but this item won't be built to withstand his rather active play-style:p 

    EDIT:

    Holy heck! Even better in prototype form! Nice. I wouldn't mind having that in my very small collection. Prime should lay of the Energon though--went straight to his legs (scratch that, @$$):lol

    This thing definitely is adorable, pretty sure I'll pick one up. Hope the paint apps look as good as those pics, and hopefully it's cheap-ish.
