Despite the clear evidence against it, you know there's still going to be at least 4 more pages of "Astrotrain!" (or better yet, "Astro Train!")

 

i dont think i can be astrotrain-think about how large the train was compared to BB. for Astrotrain to be in Animated, they' need to bring back Supreme to fight him. just doesnt seem like something the Animated people would do. Alpha Trion, however, seems incredibly likely to me-as i said earlier, Alpha Trion and Dai Atlas are probably part of some sort of Cybertronian Congress, while Magnus is like the President

 

Regarding the obscurity of characters, I always got the feeling that the creative impulse behind TFA was a sort of 'Best Of Transformers' - mainly G1 with a hint of Beast Wars, and opportunities (legally, artistically, or as easter eggs) would be taken where/when possible to reference other generations.

Hence - Hot Shot (Armada); Sentinel Prime (expanded lore); Ops as a fire truck (RiD); a new character (Lockdown) a bit like Death's Head (comics); Blackout (movie); background characters that look like Pretenders; the publicised want to involve Octopunch; a few more pre-, post- 86 movie characters, and a couple more from Beast Wars for the new series; Headmaster; Spike; a character whose name is Cadmus backwards...

Obviously, some work better than others, and I've never seen TF Zone or Victory (or even Beast Wars or Armada...), but I'm glad that someone like Wyatt, who wants to be both faithful and iconoclastic, on top of being a big fan, is in charge.

I'd guess other obvious contenders for S4 are now SkyByte, Victory Star Leo Sabre Something Bot, and at least one Star Wars Crossover...

Bring on those sparky dinosaur chicken robots, I say.

Personally I think it's obvious it's NOT Astrotrain. First of all it's one word, secondly S250 said 'old'. I'm all for obscure characters getting the spotlight rather the same old characters, but that said there are still plenty of G1 characters left to pick - Trailbreaker, Grapple, Hound, Bluestreak, Astrotrain, Sixshot (unlikely but well... one can dream), Reflector (lol) etc.
